I've always been curious about trying to paint scenery pieces. I found these dungeon doors and gave it a shot. It wasn't as difficult as I imagined it would be at first. I'm pleased with the results.

This thing looks awesome! I love doors and I would never have thought to try this in a million years. But it looks good. Classic, mythical! I'm into it.

I'm really looking forward to tackling the treasure chests & mimic now since they use the same color scheme plus a few extra on the mimic and open chest.

I never really gave it much thought before, but I'm starting to see why people like painting minis! Some of these little sculpts look pretty cool, and I can imagine how engaging it is, going for the look you want.

Short version, Had huge leak from frige(basement) ,only months later did I find all my gaming crap was moldy. Too disgusted to save any of it. I owned maybe 5000 or so if you count the Mage Knight and Heroclix. Could have saved lead and pewter easily but this all happened near the end of Mysantia, so at the time I could have cared less, at the time,at the time, sigh

It took a little getting used to and experimentation but the wet palette I recently bought has helped tremendously. It makes painting more convenient because it keeps the paint runny for a much longer time. If I need a break or just want to plan my next move, I can put the lid on it and walk away. The paint stays in good condition for hours and some of them will maintain overnight. The one I bought was only $15 - and I've seen them as high as $50 - but mine works perfectly. I would recommend any semi-serious painter to get one.

hengest As I promised, here is the Bone Guardian. I went back and forth during the process of painting this one. I was pretty dissatisfied with it until the moment I took the picture and saw it on my laptop screen. In fact, I was on the verge of finding another type of skeleton miniature to use. The only thing left to do is give it a quick wash and then seal it. I used the "positive colors" of blue and green to show that this is a corrupted warrior type character on the side of good that was slain in combat but has been corrupted and raised to fight for evil. Hopefully, that makes sense. For better or worse, here is the Bone Guardian.

One thing this mini shows is how limited my visual imagination is.
When I thought of the Bone Guardian, all I could imagine was a beefy skeleton. Now I see this cool mini, and I realize it can be clothed and look like a paladin or a wizard or farmer or anything else! The possibilities are that much more awesomely numerous!
