Thank you! Really glad your SSI is now a done deal. That can sometimes be a long difficult slog. Thank you, it took me almost 30 months to get approved. Now it's going to take a few months to get the money. Ugh! Just like the Army - hurry up and wait!

Now it's going to take a few months to get the money. That is so wrong. When my wife went on SSI, it took about 5 months, but she had a whole mess of documents and doctors and was on dialysis, still took a while. She got the Long Term Disability from her job first, but what was criminal was that once the SSI was approved, they wanted us to pay them back. That should be illegal, you pay a premium for Long Term Disability, they should have to pay the full amount for the full maximum time without regard to SSI, let alone the whole pay us back now that SSI is approved.

Yesterday, the judge entered his ruling so the process begins for the finalizing of my SSI. Social Security's website says that this part will take 2-4 weeks. I'm thinking that I'll have my first payment on March 1st. My sister will set me up with a checking account to have the money deposited there. I'm going to buy myself a kick ass computer and be on the bleeding edge for once. I put the parts list together to make an AMD Threadripper work station/server. This way I can start hosting files, possibly email service, and game servers. I'll be using it for AI generation as well. My friends are all saying that I'm much happier now that I am no longer worried about being destitute. I do feel better overall. As long as you've been waiting you deserve to do something for yourself. Hope you get it in March!

My brother in law was med flighted to the hospital earlier today (12:30PM) and I had a little update about 3:30PM, they are doing tests and CT scans and such. He has had several stokes. I have been kinda waiting for another update, but I am going to get off here and fix some supper.

Went to emergency thinking it was a severe gas attack which he'd had previously. Was handed a handful of aspirin and some nitro and was told his helicopter was being arranged as that hospital wasn't capable of performing the appropriate services. He's better now though disappointed his very first copter ride was in a recumbent position so he wasn't able to enjoy it...Again prayers for your Brother's recovery.

It's not a major health issue or anything but it seems that the boy & I have the crud so we're going to the doctor tomorrow. I'll try to be active but I can make no promises.

At least she lives in the midst of a lot of family and they all like my brother in law.

My step-mom had one about two years ago and though still very much "functional" there is no doubt she suffered some disability. My half-brothers won't let her drive their kids anywhere as her judgement/reactions are less than ideal when operating a vehicle. She is in denial but I think they're pushing to take the keys. Tough situation.

The other day, he had went to town in one vehicle and my sister in another, he drove home really fast and then when my sister got there he was standing by his car and was not sure if that was his house or not, so muscle memory got him home. She called 911 and he was rushed to the hospital and it was the right call. So yeah, he shouldn't drive, even if he thinks he is fine. He was a truck driver for a long time, so it is hard for him to not drive. Military vet too, Army Ranger.

Prayers for your swift recovery. Ugh...my son has gotten better day by day after visiting Urgent Care. I have continued to get worse. I booked a return visit for tomorrow morning at 0830 and took a day of vacation.

We had something over the holidays like that. After 10 days of OTC meds we saw our primary care and got some prescript anti cough meds. No fun!

The whole family has been coughing and draining on and off since November, with a rough bout of flu mixed in. Here's to hoping for your swift recovery!

After 10 days of OTC meds we saw our primary care and got some prescript anti cough meds. No fun! Yes on the persistent cough but it was becoming stronger to the point of feeling the urge to vomit. I still tested negative but the doctor gave me an antibiotic. After picking it up, the school called and I picked up my son and went for a second visit with him. He tested positive for strep throat so he got a specialized antibiotic. I feel good enough to go to work tomorrow but I'll be lethargic. His note excuses him through today but I may keep him home one more day.

You're absolutely correct about the year of the crud. My daughter had COVID a few weeks ago as well.

This strep throat that had us down is doing much better after getting some antibiotics in our systems. No worries, The Perilous Dreamer and others, I'll be participating in the pbp game later today.

Glad to hear you are feeling better. I have been slow rolling the pbp game so that we could have a little still going on, but not requiring full participation from everyone.

Today would have been mine and my late wife's 28th anniversary. Here are some pictures from out 20th anniversary trip, just before we found out about her health stuff. This is her at the Artic Circle and a couple of pictures of the trees at the Artic Circle in the next couple of posts, it never occurred to me that there would be trees of that size, I was expecting little short scrub brush.

At the end of the tour of Mt Denali National Park, the guide was telling us all that he did not think we were going to get to see a wolf as there were only one or two still in the park. When this wolf came up the road, so he just stopped and we waited. It crossed the road and went along side of the bus moving pretty fast. I had just barely enough time to stick my hand in the air, tilt the camera and snap the picture through the side window of the bus. We were amazed with the picture. (had a little extra light from the camera flash inside the bus) About three weeks after we got home, I heard a news report that it was official there were no more wolves in the park.

Getting this picture was probably the most eye hand coordination win in my whole life. (It crossed the road and went along side of the bus moving pretty fast. I had just barely enough time to stick my hand in the air, tilt the camera and snap the picture through the side window of the bus.)

I have never been quite that far north, but I have also been impressed by the size of trees in picture at that latitude. I assume you had a great time on this trip, and I hope it was so.
