Sora and Josiah will also fill their water skins with the water, if this is permissible.

Graytusk speaks
Graytusk looks around the rooms and smiles, "OK, now that we are all here, let's get right to it. As I noted, I am providing you with three pack mules with food, some extra gear and extra flasks of water from my pitcher." He looks around again and then continues, "Firstly, the water in the ratio of about 1 cup to the flask will purify bad water, so you will want to save it to when you don't trust the water. You are all welcome to fill your own flasks with this water also. When drunk undiluted by other water, the pitchers water has healing properties."
"The extra gear is a number of items I think you will find useful. There is a high quality dagger for each of you, a few camp shovels, 10 bundles of extra torches, a couple of 10' poles and some spikes and a hammer a few other items, along with some extra tinder boxes, candles, heavy pencils and the like."
"I have also included some silver weapons - a half dozen silver daggers, 20 silver tipped arrows, two silver tipped spears and some silver chainmail just enough to cover the throat area for each of you. The werebeast may still tear your throat out, but will pay for the privilege," and Graytusk winks.

Sora and Josiah each claim a high quality normal dagger, a silver dagger, a silver chain gorget, a camp shovel and a bundle of torches. Josiah (he of the 18 Strength and the otherwise rather empty backpack) will also volunteer to carry a reasonable amount of such other supplies as are not otherwise distributed.
Whenever not more productively occupied, Sora and Josiah will both carefully keep as sharp an edge as possible on their camp shovels . . . just in case.
***************************************************************************
[OOC: The Tiefling race has Dark Vision, but I don't know if Sora retains this in his current incarnation. If Sora does have Dark Vision, then he won't need any torches. As to sharpening their shovels, while participating in past seiges Sora and Josiah found (as did frontline soldiers in an elsewhen World War I) that sharpened entrenching tools make satisfactory emergency melee weapons.]

Graytusk pulls out an old battered map and lays it on the table. Attachments:

After spreading the map out Graytusk continues, "If you follow the road it will take you about two weeks on foot to reach the spot marked with a circled X, that is where a very faint and unused trail branches off from the road. It is marked by a huge boulder to the right of the road with very large trees flanking it, you will find the trail about 500 yards behind the boulder. You will have to pay attention to it to follow it up to where you see a cliff face, that is the back wall of the dungeon ruins and you will find an entrance at the lowest point of the cliff face. From the road this will take you a half day to reach."
He looks around, "At that entrance you will likely finds signs of quite a bit of foot traffic, my party of 8 ogres barely made it out alive and a couple of us retired with our share. The others, they kept going back and did not return. If instead of following this trail you continue on up the road another half day, you will see a well recognized trail that leads off to the right and it also leads to the ruins to the "main entrance" as it were and that is about 200 feet higher elevation that the way we went in."

Then Graytusk pulls out another map also very battered and spreads it out saying, "This is the only surviving fragment of the dungeon map that I have, I did not keep much since I never planned to go back and the others were going back. The X at the right side of the map is the entrance and the long line is the cliff face. The other lines are corridors and the X's are doors, we went into over 100 rooms/areas and ran into all kinds of weird things."Attachments:

The last three posts are by Graytusk and are posts that you will want to study with care. I will likely not be on for the next few days due to my wife's surgery, so you may want to go to this thread Player Map Discussions to discuss the maps and then summarize your questions and comments and post them in this thread. I would like for all of you to post in that thread even if only to say that is fine with me in regard to the other comments. Not looking for role-playing in that thread, more of getting everyone on the same page and organizing to hit the road after any questions are answered.

Wy will take one of the silver daggers. And since it seems no one has grabbed it yet, Drek will take the other silver spear.

Herv will claim a normal dagger, a silver chain gorget and 5 of the silver tipped arrows. The torches can stay on the pack mule for now, no need to carry extra weight.

Sora will lay claim to any daggers not taken up by anyone else in the party, once the sharing out of the ogre's supplies begins to wind down.

The orcs also each take a high quality dagger. Unless someone specially states that they are not taking a high quality dagger, there will not be any extras. Of course you can try to gain additional daggers if you wish.

(Shiyazthar blinks!) I read the above as there currently being at least one extra regular dagger that has not been claimed.

(Shiyazthar, if he hasn't already, picks up a dagger, checks its balance and sheaths it in his belt.)

You may want to find out if everyone is ok with you taking it. That will happen when - after the first rush of snatching subsides - Sora calmly reaches for the as-yet-unclaimed dagger, as though he has a perfect [deity-given] right to it.

Shiyazthar smiles his most charming smile, and truly trying to be charming (He lives most of the time in solitude, so his social filters have never really developed.) asks, "Now we know where. Is there aught you wish us to retrieve or find and bring?"

Is there aught you wish us to retrieve or find and bring?" Graytusk smiles and repeats himself. The ogre leans in closer and says, "There is a lot to tell and a lot I could tell about those ruins, but there is a price for that information as that is where I received these scars. Don't frown like that, it is not your coin I am looking for, I can see none of you have much of that. There are some other items there that match my pitcher, I want the whole group of you to swear on oath that you will bring those items back with you, if you survive. Without my information, odds are against any of you making it back. Talk it over and let me know!" The ogre turns away to serve other customers. Then he adds, "Have some more water friend, it will help with those memory issues."

Tuck says, " Greytusk, when you say items that match your pitcher, do you know what they are? Things like platters and serving dishes?" He continues, "What else can you tell us about this entrance you are leading us to and what might we expect to run into on the way there and once inside? Can you tell us anything about the main entrance? What did your group run into that was so rough on your group? How long ago was this?Tuck also takes note of Sora grabbing the unclaimed dagger and thinks to himself, greedy are you red scaly would be paladin, and resolves to keep an eye on that one. So far not looking much like paladin material to me.

But if they produce food and/or drink, then I want them as my share. Also I have three young ogre's (my nephews) that I am sending along to guard the mules while you are insidem, they will have their own mule for their gear. They will likely be willing to swap places with anyone who wants to. They will report to you Tuck." He continues, "Travel should be reasonably safe for the first week and then get worse from their on out. There is a dragon in the area, you probably don't want to call his attention to you and if he drops in on you I would highly recommend that you be polite, Sora is not going to be your choice to speak to the dragon. I don't really know anything about the main entrance aside from the location, we did not use it. We ran into large fast moving bugs that paralyzed some of us and a lot of undead. We were young then, not up to full strength yet. It has been over 30 years ago, so who knows what things are like now."
Unless there are other questions or gear that you think you might need, I think we are done here and the road lies ahead.
