((Zipper and Mensa stare in awe at how perfectly still everyone else is standing.)) OOC: Who's standing still?

OOC Notes that ZU-ZU!! had previously joined us to help Gory Flory relight torches.
OOC: How many does it look like there are in this troop? Crucial information that and it may drastically change the provisional decision below. Assuming that the numbers are roughly equal, we will go with the below. If we are outnumbered then we will do something different.
Gory Flory immediately climbs up on top of a sarcophagus to take the high ground if it comes to blows. Gory Flory calls out to the troop, "Who ye be and what are you about?" More quietly to the rest of the party, "You folks that know other languages might want to try them." "Zipper, why don't you join us here." OOC: Not sure when I’ll be back on, so... IF the party engages, has Zipper blown his chance to fire an arrow (he would be holding his bow during the rest turn) by having started back toward the door? If not, he will loose an arrow; if so, he will exchange bow for dagger (finishing his surprise turn?) with the intent to skulk just beyond the edge of the lit area to try and get himself in an unnoticed position behind the shaggy fighters.

Mensa: "Spaghetti Men deaf? Don't wanna see big jools in box?" (drops lid, which he hadn't really raised very much, but it does make a very pretty CRASH sound)

During their surprise round, the party positions themselves, Flory questions the berserkers, and Mensa propositions them to help. Gory Flory counts three of them.
The referee rolls an initial reaction for the berserkers (2d6=8, uncertain), who seem taken off guard.
"Who ye be and what are you about?"
(referee rolls 2d6=6, uncertain)
"Why would we disclose such information?" retorts one of the men. "I might ask you the same question."
"Help open Mensa's boxes?"
(referee rolls 2d6=4, hostile)
"We will take no part in tomb-robbing. We let our dead lie, or burn their remains so they may live forever in the halls of our great father."

Mensa: "Spaghetti-Face very rude!" (snaps war shovel from his back and moves it into hap-dig-o stance. "Dig-o" being a reference to Korean staff attack using a shovel, and "Hap" referring to Happy the 7th Dwarf.)

(referee rolls a reaction 2d6=7, uncertain) The first man clearly isn't happy to have the honor of his dead insulted, but his face remains hardened in a cold impassive stare. The second's eyebrows flare, and he angrily draws his sword. A smile slowly crosses the face of the third and he laughs heartily at the dwarf's jabs.
The first berserker eyes the two dwarfs, two women, and a handful of pretty rings... and is clearly tempted by the prospect of both a bloody fight, and of acquiring women and wealth. (referee rolls reaction 2d6=7, uncertain) He says "You are right. These are not our dead, it is no concern of ours if they are disturbed. We will depart."
The men slowly back off down the corridor from which they came.

((Well these were attempts to write in Futhark runes to represent Mensa's use of the Khzd language of his tribe, and to add flavor with muttering which sounds mostly like grunting and belching. If any in the party recognize it, I'll be surprised. If not, it might make them just a tad more paranoid about the impulsive kid.))

Gory Flory says, "Now we have yet another reason to watch our backs. Why don't we go ahead and get another one of these sarcophagi open?"
OOC: Taking all of the same precautions as before.

Exploration Turn 13
The party finishes their breather, avoids a tussle, and resumes exploration feeling refreshed and with newly lit torches.
Zuzu guards the door while the rest of the company struggles to slide off the top of the next sarcophagus (the referee dices for contents). Inside lies a skeletal form armored in chainmail and gripping a longsword in its bony fingers.

Just surveying the revealed contents... What kind of shape are the armor and sword in? Any special markings, sparkling from the pommel, or anything else unusual?

Both sword and maille appear to be in fairly serviceable shape, protected against oxidation and wear by the sarchophogi. The sword is a longsword, sheathed in a scabbard of intricately tooled, dyed, and ornamented leather. The maille is covered in the remains of a dark surcoat. Both blade and maille are therefore hard to assess by a visual inspection as they are hidden to view, but the visible portion of the sword (hilt, pommel, and crossbar) seem to be of good make.
The skeletal figure indeed has the sparse remnants of a (likely once great) beard.

Unnerved by the armored skeleton, Zipper retrieves the large stone he and Mensa left by the door, then slams the stone down at the skeleton’s skull, hoping to ensure the thing remains inanimate. He’ll then reach in and pry the sword and scabbard from the bony fingers.

The skull splinters and the sword is pulled free with a crunch of finger bones. It is a nice sword. The grip is black leather and the metal ferrous. It is plain of adornment or jewels, but a good looking serviceable sword nonetheless.

Zipper looks around. Cleric. Magic-user. Dwarf. Dwarf. Holding the sword and scabbard out toward Mensa: “Any interest in this sword? Or should I just stow it for now and we move on to opening the next sarcophagus?”

Exploration Turn 14
The company gathers to the side of the third unopened sarcophagus. With a awful grating sound, the lid is removed revealing a partially clothed skeleton grasping a small jeweled dagger to its chest in bony claws, glimmering in the flicker of torchlight.
