Tokheletoi looks at each of the people as they speak. Her ears flatten as she chuffs in annoyance. "Allow me to - briefly - summarize. You are all aboard this ship without an invitation. I have no idea who, or what, you are. We are under attack. There is one of me, and three of you. I am not leaving you unattended." She glares at each of them. "Place yourself in my position. As a crewmember and part owner, I, as is my right, request and require that you all come with me to the bridge until such time as we can sort out who should be allowed to roam the ship unescorted." Looking back over his shoulder as he follows the Vargr forward, Aarav says, "I recognize there's no way you could have known, Administrator, but I did not fly that air/raft aboard your ship uninvited." Again he scratches his head. "When I offered to help, Warrior Takheal --he's less troubled about his mispronunciation at this point--accepted my offer of assistance." He nods at Casca. "And this person, who had tried to assist one of your injured crewmates, was invited by another of your colleagues to help her aboard the air/raft."

Charlie will unlock the hatch, not looking particularly happy, but not hindering their... guests. He will keep an eye on them and make sure no one tries rushing Tak or Tok. Aarav tries to take a look into/around the bridge, trying to get a sense of how different it might be, with special attention to the pilot's console, from the Toy.

OOC: Let me see if I get this right. There are three stations on the bridge. The Aslan is sitting at what is presumably the pilot's console. The two other stations are vacant, but there is this Human who has unlocked the hatch to let the Vargr into the turret. . . .
Looking at Charlie, Aarav says, "Greetings. Are you the navigator?"

Tokheletoi calls the forward lift and waits until it opens. She leads the way through the forward lounge to the bridge hatch.

"Pilot, I am not rated for ship gunnery, but if it turned on and computer interface is running it can't be much different than a vehicle mounted weapon, for which I have had some training."[ooc]Yeah with a water cannon, in basic, 16 years ago.[/ooc]

Tokheletoi turns to the trio. "Which of you can operate the turret?" "I'm no gunner, Adminstrator," Aarav says. "But I'm qualified to operate that vacant navigator's console." He gestures at Charlie. "If this is not the navigator." After a moment he adds, "Under Warrior Takheal's direction, of course."

"I . . . uh, I can pilot this ship," he says. "It's a bit larger than my last ship, but familiar nonetheless. I flew ships this size many times in the scouts." After a moment he adds, "But I've never piloted a ship in combat."
OOC: Likely going to be away from the board for the next eight hours.

"The turret is up and running, all they have to do it point the reticle and push the firing key."

Will our amateur gunner take the hot seat?”

Ekhunoz moves to the seat he had just left. Puts on the communicator. Sees that the machine is on and attempts to bring up targeting.
Over the communicator to Peng.
"Gunner 2 to Chief Gunner, Check."

Casca is persuaded by Aarav's generous support, and comes along to the bridge rather than be left in the hold where temptation would likely get the better of him. He stands by the hatch, unobtrusively.

Casca looks up, and answers immediately. "A Calibrator set for any realignments of the power plant; plassteel tape and patches for fissures; neutrino traps if it's the jump drive." Casca shrugs. "If there's an M-85 toolkit down there, I'm sure it would help ensure life support stays online. And, of course, if you need repairs on the go, I'd likely need a vacc suit."

Charlie nodded and gestured toward to open turret. “The pilot has spoken. Will our amateur gunner take the hot seat?” Aarav nods in assent, making sure he's not blocking access to the turret. "It looks like there's an open seat at the Electronics console," he says to Charlie. "If I might be permitted take that position--and the Administrator here is amenable--I might be able to assist at another, more convenient time. And it would be an effective way to get a sense of how things work on this ship without me getting in anyone's way."

Peng replies to Ekhunoz over the turret-to-turret link: "Glad you're back! Quick brief: Blue lines are where my cannons are aimin'. Red dot is where cans you launch explode. Usin' the joystick, put the red dot on the ship image - WITHOUT coverin' the blue lines - then 'LAUNCH.' Questions?"****************************************************** [OOC: Normally, there would be a *lot* more data than the above on Ekhunoz's screen. But Peng listened in on the recent bridge conversation via the intercom and knows Sand Slinger doesn't have much training. So he's pared the display down to the barest essentials, hoping this will make the job actually doable. The ship image on Ekhunoz's screen is actually an echo from Peng's console of roughly where Peng estimates the pirate will be - a few seconds ahead of Peng's current aim point - when Ekhunoz's launched cans arrive. It thus appears to Ekhunoz as if Peng isn't aiming at all well - which can be commented on in-game, if Aarav decides that Ekhunoz's Forward Observer skill doesn't let him guess the rationale behind his limited screen data. BTW: this time-offset explains why Ekhunoz can possibly put his red dot onto the ship image WITHOUT covering Peng's blue lines. ]

Tokheletoi steps toward the bridge hatch and addresses Casca. "Please follow me. I will take you to Engineering." With that, she starts aft, taking him back through the forward lounge, down the corridor for the crew's quarters, through the after lounge, and then through the airlock into the drive room. "Blackjack, are you still in Engineering," she calls on the comm.

"That's simply not true. You do know who we are." (Where did this "we" come from, he wonders, looking quickly at Aarav.) "You know we are people who helped your friend, not knowing that you would be shot at, or that we would be taken aboard your ship. We are people who are offering to help now. And you know we are not the ones shooting at you. If you do not want our help, if you are choosing to take prisoners of people who help because you are having a bsd day, then you are seeking enemies where there are none."OOC: Again, I ask, is anyone pointing a weapon at Casca? OOC: Joe? You got a gun on Casca or is it pointing at the deck?

This is a 400 dton ship, same general layout as a Subbie, and you've seen those...all of you have, so you should be able to find your way around easily enough. Deckplans.

We got no jump mass loaded, though, so we ain't going to jump anywhere. Is there any sort of local system defense here? We didn't see anything on the way in, but you know they must have something!"

He begins to examine the controls and displays on the console before him, careful not to touch anything.
