OOC: Are there guns still pointed at Casca? Is there an open hatch? Is there access to a Ship's Boat visible? OOC: I don't know about the guns, but there is no open hatch, nor access to a Ship's Boat, visible. But given what Tokheletol said, a hatch can be opened and you can leave right now if you want to. Better hurry and make up your mind though.

Tokheletol called Sickbay, Doc Vargas answers, "Yes, Gill is here. He was wounded and was brought in by one of the Delgado folk. It looks like he and Madam Cho are going to survive, but I'm sorry to say I couldn't bring Captain Firestorm back."
Peng picks up rapid "pings" on the sensors. The other ship is using active sensors and are targeting Clear Sails. They CAN'T miss at this range! Peng picks up the other ship as a blip with no Transceiver report on it. It is 19 KM out and accelerating at 2 g. It will go behind the planetary limb is just over a minute if Clear Sails stays on the ground. That will mean direct fire weapons won't be able to get off shots either way.
Just as Charlie steps back on the Bridge, Tak finishes his pre-flight and Blackjack comms that the engines are powered up and ready to go.
The ship rocks, twice, and looking at the outside screen on the Bridge you see a long groove in the tarmac where a ship's laser just slammed down. A second shot has hit a warehouse next to the Terminal Building and something in there exploded. The warehouse is a smoking ruin! There is debris everywhere, but Clear Sails appears to have been spared any damage...this time!
Back in the cargo hold everyone feels the ship rock and roll and hears a pair of powerful explosions. They sound like they are just outside!

When he's clear, he will alter course to give the turrets their best shot at the pirate's ship, and accelerate as quickly as the lumbering merchantman will. Tokheletoi holds on as the Clear Sails' internal grav fields come online. "It appears that you two are along for the ride, wherever that may take us. What are your shipboard skills?"

"We are lifting off in a moment. You are both welcome to stay aboard, as long as you don't cause trouble. If that is not agreeable, then you should leave immediately. The security air car is available for your use," she gives a tight-lipped smile, "since it is stolen, anyway." "Thank you, Administrator," says Aarav. "I accept your generous offer to remain aboad, with humility--and a bit of relief, to tell the truth." He glances at the other interloper. "You're welcome to the air/raft," he says. "Though I'd appreciate it if you didn't tell anyone about me if you choose to return it!" He smiles broadly.

Back in the cargo hold everyone feels the ship rock and roll and hears a pair of powerful explosions. They sound like they are just outside! Clawing his way to the air/raft controls, Aarav tries to get its grav-field to interconnect with the ship's grav-field, in an attempt to secure it to the deck.

"Navigator and pilot," Aarav says. "Though with Warrior Takheal --[again he's sure he's mangled the pronunciation]--at the pilot's console we seem to be in good hands." After a moment he adds, "Other than that, I take orders well and can usually handle odd tasks thrown my way, in a passable manner at least."

Casca is surprised at the sudden turn of events. He reaches behind him for his shoulder bag, and feels the outside to ensure that his cutlass is still secure within. It is. He's careful with his hands, trying to av oid getting blood anywhere, but he clearly needs to wash up.
Slowly, he lowers his hands, and tries to make eye contact with Aarav, who seems just as out of place here as he is, but is rolling with it. He gets out of the car, and adjusts his jacket, and bag. "I say," he begins, "Drive jockey and Shuttle pilot, me. Point me towards the engine room?"

Peng picks up rapid "pings" on the sensors. The other ship is using active sensors and are targeting Clear Sails. They CAN'T miss at this range! "AH, S**T!" Peng curses explosively, then remembers to trigger the general intercom: "A**holes are pinging us! Even if they're half-blind, they can't possibly miss!"Peng picks up the other ship as a blip with no Transceiver report on it. It is 19 KM out and accelerating at 2 g. It will go behind the planetary limb is just over a minute if Clear Sails stays on the ground. That will mean direct fire weapons won't be able to get off shots either way. A frustrated Peng growls out, "Come on, ya furball! Get us the Hell off the deck already!"The ship rocks, twice, and [sic] you see a long groove in the tarmac where a ship's laser just slammed down. A second shot hit a warehouse next to the Terminal Building and something in there explode. The warehouse is a smoking ruin! There is debris everywhere, but Clear Sails appears to have been spared any damage...this time! "YEE HA! The A**holes can't hit S**T! We may live through this yet!" Peng exults. Takheal lifts the ship, riding the grav lifters hard to get airborne. He steers away from the starport and any surrounding buildings, just in case they get shot down. When he's clear, he will alter course to give the turrets their best shot at the pirate's ship, and accelerate as quickly as the lumbering merchantman will. "I thank you most sincerely, Mister Furball! Returnin' fire!" Peng shouts into the intercom, as he sends laser bolts hurtling toward the pirate. Despite his excitement, Peng remains a professional gunner, very carefully leading the pirate ship as he fires. ******************************************************** [OOC: I use the plural ("bolts") above, although I remain uncertain as to exactly how Clear Sails is armed. Referee? Could your next post please inform me of this? Thank you!]

As the ship shudders slightly with recoil [personal scale lasers may be essentially recoilless but ship scale ones most definitely are not], Peng's voice comes out of the intercom speakers again: "Hey! Is Sand Slinger deaf or somethin'? I need him - or SOMEBODY - in the port turret!"
********************************
[OOC: Peng's need assumes - of course - that reloading of sand launchers is something which must be done manually, as per the relevant player post upthread. As our Referee has not overruled that specific detail, I am continuing to assume that it reflects in-game reality.]

Casca Vhar holds his ground. Apart from the bloodstains on is cuffs, he's clean and well-dressed, with an expensive haircut. He speaks calmly but deliberately at the Aslan female.
"With respect, maybe you want to decide whether you want help or whether you want prisoners. I'm here because I tried to save your colleague -- Cho was her name? In the process I hurt your friend Blackjack's pride. Now this ship is taking off with us on it, and you're marching us to the bridge. Now, it sounds like you are short a gunner." He waves his hand in the direction of the comms speaker. "I'll pull a trigger if you want, but if you want me to be helpful, take me to the engine room or let me find it on my own."

Aarav, who is [Str 11 and Dex 9]-sized-- he won't mention the odd illness which has left him [End 4], looks at the tall non-human and says, "Administrator, I realize you have little reason to trust any of us newcomers, but perhaps I can lend a hand here. I'll be of little use in the engine room or in a turret, but I could accompany one of these-- he glances at the other non-human--beings to either of those stations for you. I can report in on arrival and likely could discourage any effort to engage in serious sabotage. If all else fails, I know how to use the intercomm."

Tokheletoi looks at each of the people as they speak. Her ears flatten as she chuffs in annoyance. "Allow me to - briefly - summarize. You are all aboard this ship without an invitation. I have no idea who, or what, you are. We are under attack. There is one of me, and three of you. I am not leaving you unattended." She glares at each of them. "Place yourself in my position. As a crewmember and part owner, I, as is my right, request and require that you all come with me to the bridge until such time as we can sort out who should be allowed to roam the ship unescorted."

"That's simply not true. You do know who we are." (Where did this "we" come from, he wonders, looking quickly at Aarav.) "You know we are people who helped your friend, not knowing that you would be shot at, or that we would be taken aboard your ship. We are people who are offering to help now. And you know we are not the ones shooting at you. If you do not want our help, if you are choosing to take prisoners of people who help because you are having a bsd day, then you are seeking enemies where there are none."
OOC: Again, I ask, is anyone pointing a weapon at Casca?

The Aslan looks back from where she is walking with the Vargr. "Come with me. Remain here, and I will have the ship seal you in the cargo bay until someone has time to deal with you." She looks at Ekhunoz. "And here I thought only Htatei were this intransigent."

If you don’t feel like waiting even a little while for the fight to end, this might get... awkward. Could you show a little patience?
