In Monsters & Treasure there are a few types of men listed. Notably bandits, berserkers, brigands, dervishes, nomads, buccaneers, pirates, cavemen and mermen. It is a rather amusing that mermen are listed as men, instead of a separate race(species). The Arduin Grimoire is a great place to look for other types of men, such as merchants. There are a wide variety of men-types that the PCs can come into contact depending on whether they are in villages, towns or cities or out in the wilderness or encountering an occupied castle or stronghold.

It is a rather amusing that mermen are listed as men, instead of a separate race(species). If they are based on Poul Anderson's book The Merman's Children they are not full-on fish-tailed mermaid types, so I can see why they're listed under "man-types".
