And on the actual topic of the evening . . . welcome to all the new players. I just hope that we don't get confused, since it appears erisred is running the initial encounter of all of these new characters with one another as a separate scene, inside the current existing scene (which is separated from them in space and probably in time as well). I was expecting that to happen in a separate thread. Both scenes could run at the same real-world time, since neither one necessarily has any impact on the other.

I sure will! Right now before I exit for bed. Eris ps. With Terry, JR, and Matt joining us I think we're full again...eight is enough! Terry, JR, Matt, Mighty D, EbonHS, Chuck, Oscar, Raikenclw...and several NPC's. Yep, full ship! I've posted the character I have, minus the background, that Eris rolled up for me. Now all Eris needs is to start a gunfight to introduce me. jk, I don't have a gun and no one wants me shooting one. Seriously. Big Trouble in Little China don't want me shooting a gun. OOC: Be careful what you ask for!

You opened with reference to educated people . . . Hey. I'm not arguing any of your points. Never was. But I didn't open with "educated people." I was asking what the falling birthrate of educated people had to do with signs of a dystopian future. And that is the question I attempted to answer.

When a group splits, a new thread is created to follow each portion. Similarly, when two groups merge, a separate thread is started for the new larger group. I have found that this makes researching previous developments much easier, down the road. PbP moves so slowly that it's quite common for players (and GMs!) to forget details. Finding what happened back a ways becomes a difficult proposition if different action sequences become tangled.

EXAMPLE: I've forgotten all the cabin assignments. For a steward, this is embarrassing.

erisred, I sort of set an "artificial" departure time due to Raven's desire for us to get off-planet as quickly as possible (see the Leroy's Again thread).

We have to settle the sale of the shares before we can lift off. Maybe other crew members can purchase shares, and maybe the new members that are prospective at this point could buy shares.

Speaking of the shares how many credits do we have? Did Delgado pay anything up front and if so has any of that been distributed? I would like to buy some of the shares if I have the funds.

Peng - being merely hired crew paid a salary - has no interest in such high finance, although (if asked) he would likely express a preference for Raven acquiring a controlling number of shares. Despite (or perhaps because of) her strictness with him, Peng rather likes and respects her.

Can we despair now? It's roughly five days later . . . Nope, you can't! Michael intervened. Happily, for me, it made a right hand turn at the last minute and spared my home. I'm very sorry for those over in the Panama City area, but I'm glad it's not me that got hit. Posts incoming...right now!

From the action threadOCC: Yes Peng is one of those players who can't resist making suggestions to the DM about how to mess up the party. My dad would always act on those suggestions and the player in question always bore the brunt of their own suggestions. Not really. I just didn't want our new companion to expect too much from his innovation. For just about every Wonderful Widget, there's an opposing Glorious Gadget to compensate for its effects. Not at all whar Cyril used.|

Dragon's BreathCan't remember the context of my above now (I've slept a few times since then . . .). But I do remember Dragon's Breath rounds. I specifically remember telling my Shadowrun players, "Check the wind direction and strength, whenever you're going to use these . . ."

Oh! I just remembered the context. Dragon's Breath is an instantaneous flash-fire, not the lingering light our GM seemed to describe.

Hey. Just so everybody knows: Peng is hoping that the ship lifts off and goes to retrieve Gil And Company, rather than the airraft. You see, in such a case, someone might decide to take the ship under fire . . . and then Peng can legitimately fire BACK. I'm reminded of a scene in Abbadon's Gate [the fourth volume of The Expanse series by James S. A. Corey), in which an Idjit in a vacc suit - armed with an assault rifle - is ranting against the PCs' attempt to rescue a disabled freighter full of innocent bystanders using the spinal mount railgun of their own disabled ship as a makeshift reaction drive . . . Idjit: "I will shoot down *any* attempt to . . ." A railgun round streaks soundlessly away into the distance, as on everyone's threat display Idjit's icon instantly winks out. PC Pilot, in a slow drawl: "Sorry. That was me. But he was gettin' on my nerves and I had the shot. Am I in trouble?"

It will be at the ship now. Everyone is coming together just outside the Clear Sails as the ATV arrives back from the trouble at Leroy's Bar and Grill. Eris

I'll be posting infrequently because of internet connection issues. I'll post at least once every two days as I can get online at a library locally & login there.
