I did not want to derail this thread IMPORTANT NOTICE!!, but I did want to let everyone know that I am open to more play by post games, as many as there are Refs/DMs/GMs and available players. Whether that is one game or 50 games, it is fine with me. To start a game just post a invitation/proposal thread and send me a pm with a few details and the name for the game itself and I will get you set up and running as soon as you have at least what you consider the minimum number of players to start. Any questions, please post them to this thread. I good with pretty much any old school game, so if you have a proposal please post it or ask about it. If someone wants to play in a certain game post that too and perhaps other players will want to play that too and perhaps someone will want to be the Ref/DM/GM. EDIT by Admin 6/29/2017: If you are interested in starting or playing in a PBP game - go to Game Openings & Related Info for information. |

I actually have a world desighnede for online gaming, its the world of Conan 5000 years before him when the serpant men ruled the world, prob could do something with that
EDIT Be a little wile before Im ready, prob gonna use my Conan world thou, as it was made for this. I figure running one game and being in the Od&D and Traveller games is about my limit. Nice to see there is already interest. Id welcome input into what peeps would like to do.

I don't even know -- something with relatively low posting requirements, and something classic! But I'd want to talk to the DM first and see if I'd be able to live up to the game.

Well I am hoping something comes along that works for you, perhaps something where the other players run you character most of the time, but you post when the "big" things come up. |

OK. I have been watching the pbp games with great interest and in light of the following: 1. My wife's health and treatment 2. Placed my real life campaign on hold back early in the year and I cannot see restarting it anytime soon 3. From mid August to end of Sept is the busiest time of my work year I am looking into starting my own OD&D pbp game. The estimated start date would be October 1st - two months from this coming Tuesday. Between now and then whoever would like to play should post and let me know that. While I would like to run the game daily, I don't know that that will be possible for me or not. So I am planning to go with 3-4 times a week or more often if time permits for myself. For the players I am looking to have a core of at least a few people who can post at least as often as 3-4 times per week or more. I am also willing to accept players that are willing to go with the flow and be carried along by the more active players and while you will expected to frequently check the game, you are really only interested in posting when something big comes up and I can roll with that. If you miss something big because you don't log in for a week, so be it. I am going to attempt to have a game that moves quickly for an pbp game and I will be posting house rules, background and an FAQ of things you need to know to help you stay alive. If I wasn't so busy I'd play and show you the LGTSA style of take no prisoners.
BTW: I believe that there needs to be created a basic commands/actions abbreviation list for such PbP games, too many repeated words slows down the actual flow. Someone should consider doing this by dissecting such games to see where that could/would apply in actionable parts of the typed commands. My contribution is limited to the idea because, as I have stated, I'm too busy otherwise. ( I might input if someone were to start upon this in one of the Workshops.)

I have never been in a PbP game, and don't see myself doing it either. But I find them to be a fascinating read and I would second the motion. Some of the experienced PbP DMs and players could add this information to the existing How to run a PbP threads that have already been started. |

Instead of creating a new thread up here in the general forum I figured I'd post it it here. I am putting forth a open call for players for my upcoming Play-by-Post campaign set in Ruins of Dorgand. So far mormonyoyoman , Mighty Darci & raikenclw have said they will play, but I was hoping to add one or two other players who could post at least twice a week if not more often if they can manage it. Unlike some of the Refs who let their games die (be it pressure from life or sinister outside forces) I'll post regularly and be fair, in hopes that my players will enjoy themselves. I'll be using Delving Deeper v. 4 as my base rules with a few minor tweaks to fit my setting. |
