I'll work on a complete list of purchases for both my characters tonight and post it (here and on the Google doc) when finished. NOTE: It'll probably look very close to the lists that Mighty Darci posted. ffliz, I know you said you didn't want to add any new weapons . . . but have you ever read the Phule's Company books, by Robert Asprin? I ask, because I would really like to have a Rolling Thunder Belt-fed Shotgun in the ship's locker. Basically, it's a Shotgun with the RoF of an SMG and a REALLY large magazine.

What is the most updated information on the armament for the ship? For the ship supplies? What things do we need to go in on together and buy for the ship and the party collectively?

I haven't read those books, but an auto-shotgun is certainly a plausible weapon. I would say it would still be covered by the skill-0 in all weapons PCs get, but as it's not a common weapon in The Imperium, it's rare for someone to come out of previous experience with proficiency. You would also have to find one, a frontier world might be a good place, I'll give some ideas shortly. As to the HMG, that would not be covered by the automatic skill-0. If you have an army or marine PC, they could have expertise instead of a normal weapon. And there will definitely be role play in acquiring one.

I will add a couple of things to both my PC and NPC then.

Hmm, maybe we should try some different options, here's a couple I generated (after fixing some bugs in the generator): Merchant 4th Officer Emma Tanaka A74987 Age 46 7 terms Cr90,000 Skills: Admin-1, Bribery-1, Electronics-1, Gun-2, Steward-1, Streetwise-1 Benefits: 8,000/yr Retirement Pay, Blade, Gun Full histories available here: docs.google.com/document/d/1RjpuDj3cYJF6wqoslM85QbUd7cV7Mjd780X2-s48ugo/edit?usp=sharing (scroll to the bottom). I will use Ms. Tanaka. Her equipment: TL-10 Hostile Environment Kit, TL-12 vacsuit, TL-9 long range comm, cutlass, IR Goggles, hand computer, 2 fancy suits, 76600 Cr You need to pick which blade and gun weapons Ms. Tanaka mustered out with (and which weapon her Gun Combat-2 is in). I used the new option that leaves cascades for the player to select.

I've started a new thread to get the role play started. I will drop some rumors later today or maybe tomorrow. In the meantime, go ahead and role play the group coming together and start the role play to acquire things like auto shotguns and HMGs.

I may have missed it in your house rules, but I want to acquire some new skills as we go.

I may have missed it in your house rules, but I want to acquire some new skills as we go. I use the rules in Book 2, with possibilities of DMs, also, you can work on any two skills rather than 2 non-weapon skills, or 1 gun and 1 blade. Level 0 skills may be acquired in various ways (which then would let you use the experience rules to work towards level 1). It's slow, but that's good, new skills should not outpace what a character gets in previous experience.

Rockie Kana is going to work on improving Dagger-0 to Dagger-1 and improving from Pilot-3 to Pilot-4. BTW does having Jack-o-T-2 aid me in learning a new skill(s)? Especially in improving my Pilot skill? Oliver Brown is going to work on improving Dagger-0 to Dagger-1 and improving Body Pistol-0 to Body Pistol-1.

Added two Daggers for Rockie Kana and added four Daggers, Broadsword and Body Pistol with ammo for Oliver Brown. Deducted the funds for each and updated the logs.

Dedication roll for Dagger 7 (does not succeed, may try Dagger or a different skill again in a year), dedication roll for Pilot 10 + 2 succeeds, Rockie is brevet Pilot-4, and assuming she keeps up the practice for 4 years, may make another dedication roll then and continue for 4 more years to make it permanent. Dedication roll for Dagger 6 + 2 succeeds, if he keeps at it for 4 years, Dagger-1 will be permanent, brevet level 1 in the meantime. Dedication roll for Body Pistol 7 (wow, Body Pistol has a high Advantageous Dexterity requirement) so he fails, he may try again in a year.

How do you get the Google doc link to show up in your signature? I'd like to be able to do that. It would save a lot of clicking and scrolling.

Hey, ffliz. Can we train to improve stats? I'd really like for Suzuki to work on his Endurance and Danny to work on her Strength.

Assuming that we are continuing to use this thread as our OOC thread . . . Former Scouts Sir Adam Suzuki and Rockie Kana have recently (a week or so ago) mustered out of the Scout service at the Scout base at Kauran. Rockie was being assigned a surplus Scout for detached duty when Adam Suzuki showed up and convinced the quartermaster to leave the aged pulse laser that had not yet been stripped out of the turret . . . So . . . does this mean that the turret currently mounted on The One is actually a triple turret? I always assume that in-service Suliemans are equipped with a triple mounting a hetero mix of one laser, one missile launcher and one sandcaster. If The One has a triple turret with two empty slots that would make it a lot easier to "restore" the above weapons mix, since we wouldn't need to acquire a replacement turret then hire a crane.

Blade specifically and shotgun, unless you allow someone to use Pistol skill for all type of pistols, I.e. Autopistols, revolvers and laser pistols. I'm going with the rules as is, so each pistol weapon requires separate expertise. I'm going under the idea that skills represent ability under pressure, so while you know how to fire any weapon (thus the skill-0 in all Book 1 weapons), certain weapons you are very familiar with you perform with very well under pressure.

I just copied the link out of the browser and pasted it in. I do most of my browsing in Firefox. I also have Chrome open, with the various Google docs open in tabs... Makes it pretty easy to bring to hand the references for all the games I'm running...

When you have 30 or 40 tabs open and thousands of bookmarks, things still get hard to find.

When you have 30 or 40 tabs open and thousands of bookmarks, things still get hard to find. Wow! It's unusual for me to have more than a couple of tabs open at once. I think that if I had been born rather a bit later I might have been diagnosed with low-end autism, perhaps Asperger's Syndrome. Once I'm concentrating on something, it's really hard for me to switch my attention to anything else.

NOTE TO ANYONE ELSE TRYING THIS: To paste in the link, I first had to quote Mighty Darci's post, copy the link text, post the copy into my portion of the post, select that, use the "Link" function to add the linking start/end coding, copy the entire result and then paste it into my profile signature (first trimming down existing text to get enough words to allow the paste).
But now it works! Whee!

Hmm, and another 12 open in a Midori browser in my Linux VM Plus 24 more in Firefox on my work laptop... It does get a bit crazy finding things sometimes... What's even crazier is sometimes I have 50+ source code windows open in ONE virtual desktop (sometimes with all 8 virtual desktops open...). Oh, it would be so nice to have virtual desktops in Windows, then each game could have it's own virtual desktop with a browser with just 3-10 tabs... Frank
