mao I found it and I'm watching it now! If you have a roku streaming device the free channel MOVIELAND has it and other offerings. It's not my fav movie but its close I've got about 10 minutes left to watch. I'm digging it! It's old school science fiction but it's serious instead of goofy. I'd watch it again.

Saw the Arnold Conan the Barbarian again a couple weeks ago. Thought I would fall asleep but made it through in one sitting. I loved it. I liked it better than ever, if that's possible. To my taste, the tone of the whole movie is perfect. The establishing shots, the travel...the whole thing works, almost every frame. To me there is no flaw. I won't try to subject it to analysis. I recognize that Howard fans may take issue with it as an adaptation. But to me the film as a film is as perfect as is going to happen. That atmosphere, that personality of the movie...man. I see there's a "making of" documentary available here on YouTube in three parts. I hope to watch it.

I hold it in much the same regard as Jackson's Lord of the Rings movies but not The Hobbit abominations. I must watch that making of documentary.

I tryed watching it when it was on, the lead actor looks like he is mentally challenged Yeah, I can't argue with that at all. From the neck down, his physique is a reasonable facsimile of what many picture Conan to look like. Front the neck up, not so great. I want to go on record as saying that I was only bringing awareness to the show, not certifying any type of quality connected with it. From what I have seen of the show, this is definitely a lesser adaptation. On a positive note, it's far from the worst adaptation of books out there.

I will probably watch it for fun later. Just the first few minutes so far and here are comments: 1. Voice over needs the volume turned up so you can hear it, the back ground noise washes the words out. 2. The guy playing Conan, right body, completely wrong face. Also he does not look very catlike and quick in his movements. This is before I have heard him speak.

mao it's called Cosmos: War of the Planets and it looks awful! This looks to be a sendup of the 1950s scifi B movies. The opening graphics are right out of old scifi in my childhood in the 60s.

I watched The Wicker Tree earlier today. It's from the director of (the Christopher Lee version of) The Wicker Man. It's my understanding that rather than a sequel it's more like a spiritual successor or something like that. While I did enjoy it and I don't regret watching it but it's basically just The Wicker Man with some changes to the story. Instead of a Police Officer going to search for a missing person the main characters are two young missionaries (one male, one female) who go to spread the gospel. If you've seen The Wicker Man, you pretty much know how the rest of the story unfolds.

Nicholas Cage was in it? Would be interested to see the original and catch up a bit.

I think you would enjoy the original more.
