Preface: This is just a back-up of a lengthy Facebook post, on the Advanced Dungeons & Dragons group. @chris107, I am trying to do research into the logistics of a Brythonic invasion of Francia. The starting point will be the determination of exactly how many soldiers you have. Depends on the realm/region. Some realms are closer to HF, some are closer S&S. Many do not properly fit into either category. IOC(In our campaign), both Albion & Francia have limited access to 17th c. tech, as per HR4 A Mighty Fortress. Albion has a definite magickal advantage over Francia (cf. DJ3 Epic of Aerth, by Gary Gygax, page 39). That said, keep in mind that I am strongly diverging from Gary's original canon. In terms of population: Albion = 7,500,000 Francia = 10,000,000 IOC, I have reduced the human population numbers by 50%, so, approx: Albion = 4,000,000 Francia = 5,000,000 Albion is a mix of different time periods/cultures, though THE BROKEN SWORD, by Poul Anderson (listed in Appendix N of the DMG), remains a big influence. Francia is perhaps more cultured: I would imagine a kind of "Three Musketeers" culture, against the backdrop of the ancient Roman mythos. Anyway, sorry, I am not sure if the realms fit into the categories of HF or S&S. Unconsciously, it seems that I may have accidentally created a unique form of fantasy, one that does not fit into the traditional categories/paradigms.

Preliminary intel gives these round numbers:
* Albion (Brython): 800,000 fighting men * Francia: 2,000,000 fighting men
This was arrived at with the assumption of 10% of the total population for an offensive force, and, 20% of the population for a defensive force.
