Quote:Today, 1346 - Hundred Years' War: Battle of Crécy: Edward, the Black Prince and his Longbowmen annihilate the French crossbowmen and knights. The Battle of Crécy is one of the first examples the proved the supremacy of the English longbow on the battlefield: Battle of Crécy casualties: France: 11 nobles, 2,500 knights, 2,300 crossbowmen, 13,000+ infantrymen; England: 2 knights, 300-400 soldiers. Notable deaths: Charles II “the Magnanimous”, Count of Alençon; Louis I, Count of Flanders; John “the Blind”, King of Bohemia, King John was blind at the time of the Battle of Creçy. He rode into battle flanked by two of his knights, his horse strapped to theirs; Rudolph “the Valiant”, Duke of Lorraine; and Louis II, Count of Blois. In this episode of the Medieval Archives podcast we discuss Edward of Woodstock. Prince Edward, ‘The Black Prince” was the oldest son of King Edward III. He proved to be an exceptional military leader during the Hundred Years War. We discuss his personal life, his outstanding military career and the major campaigns he fought. We will also look at his influence in popular culture since his death. www.medievalarchives.com/2010/08 ... ck-prince/

A kickstarter, from back in 2017. Sisterhood of the Blade (Anthology) "Three women pull off what was thought to be a man's job in 17th Century France in a new anthology from Battlefield Press." Note that the 17th century is the default time for the official Aerth campaign. Of course, around here, for the AD&DAerth forum, the 17th century only applies to certain realms. Myself, I'd imagine Francia as being one of the handful of realms that has advanced to the 17th c., in terms of technology. See the 2E book A MIGHTY FORTRESS, for more details.
