leopard, bear, deer, pig, goat, etc., are the larger sort of species
found. There are likewise crocodile, python, boa, cobra, &&
deadly krait<> too.
The inhabitants ov Assam are ov a mixed sort, ov various tribes ov
Chingsungese origin; Burmese, Himalayan, && Hindic. The intermixed
product is the Assamese people, but there are many distinct
hill tribes still in the hinterlands ov the realm.
The people are lighter than either the Bengali or Burman, a bit taller,
&& generally stockier, the men being somewhat plain but the women
quite good looking. The society is one ov free (peasant) farmers/warriors
w/ a small aristocratic overclass. Perhaps 10% of its
people adhere to the Chinese Pantheon, && another 5%
are of "animistic" religion.
Tea is one ov the finest products of Assam. Rice is the staple grain.
Some small amount of potatoes && other veggies supplement it.
Jute && cotton are cultivated, as is the rubber tree.
Ruby, sapphire, chrysoberyl, && spinel are found in modest quantities in this realm. Coal && petroleum ponds are common. Some gold is panned from streams,
&& a small amount is mined.
Ivory, tea, gems, furs && skins, && timber are the chief exports ov the realm.
