many plateaus, the coastal pain low && narrow, && the land

generally rising towards the mountainous N.



The people ov this nation are 85% ov Annamese stock. About

10% are of Chisungese, Cam, or Cham sub-sub-species; the remaining 5%

are mountain savages. Most are free peasants who willingly

accept the overlordship ov the noble class && serve well as levies in

the military. This arm is built around regular guards && mercs

in small number.



Livestock is mostly confined to buffalo (for cultivation), poulty,

&& pork.



Fish provide a major part ov the diet. The people grow rice,

tea, tobacco, cotton, cinnamon, coffee, pepper, sugar cane, silk, &&

jute<>. Precious woods are also harvested.



Mines also produce coal, gold, silver, led,

&& iron. Compared to other nations in the AREA, Annam is perhaps

the poorest at this time.

The Tcho-Tcho, or Tcho-Tcho people, are a fictional human people or human-like race in the Cthulhu Mythos.

Phở or pho[1] (pronounced variously as /fʌ/, /fə/, /fɜːr/, or /foʊ/;[2] Vietnamese: [fəː˧˩˧] ( listen)) is a Vietnamese noodle soup consisting of broth, rice noodles called bánh phở, a few herbs, and meat, primarily made with either beef or chicken.[3]

Fire beetles are found in the caverns of Annam, and the locals use them as light sources.



There are lejends of the Valley of Annam, which is shaped like a giant human. It is said to be the final resting place of a god of the giants.
As well, there are lejends of the Valley of Death, said to contain portals to Heaven and Hell. No one has ever returned from this valley.

Cavern systems leading to the Upper Underdark connect with both of these valleys, and fire beetles are common here, as well as in the other caverns of Annam.
The fire beetles were of a great help to those that had to flee to these Annamian caverns, during times of war. Despite the boon of a natural light source, many Annamian refugee families met a sad end in these mysterious and vast caverns, falling prey to local fauna, and, deeper and darker dangers. Some of these caverns are said to be a place of ghosts. Yet, some refugee families survived, and, a kind of ghost-cult exists among these semi-tribal people. The fire beetle has a special place in this tribal cult, and, plays a role in ceremonies, story-telling, and, funerary rites.

Greatly feared are the triceratops cavalry ov Annam. They are organised into 3 divisions, of 1001 triceratops in each division, under the high command of the 3 generals who serve Ho Chi Minh. None of Annam's enemies stand a good chance against Annam in the open field. Skirmishing continues on the southern border with Camchan, but the Cams are wise to avoid direct engagement, preferring the effective tactics of guerilla warfare against the Annamese. Since 994, relations between the two realms have only regressed, and, in the year 1017, the possibility of all-out war seems to be more likely.
