This is the title of a thread over on Dragonsfoot that was started back on Sun Nov 30, 2003 3:18 pm by Mithras. The thread ran for 148 posts with the last post made on Mon Jun 11, 2012 12:50 pm. The main link is In the Depths of the Old Wood - Wolves, Hunters and Woodsmen and I kept the original thread title because there is really no way to improve on it. The first main meat of the thread ie posts by Mithras are here Detailed post of the setting and I can not figure out how to link directly to the other main posts. This is wonderful setting and I am thinking of taking what was done and developing it since it has just set there all this time. Nor sure yet what direction I might take it; however, to me this is a great source of inspiration. |

Read the linked thread, too bad that he never finished it, then lost his .doc from a hard drive crash, eventually worked on it more, but if he finished it, he never posted it.

I read through the linked thread and I think this could have been an iconic game had it been published bitd, say in the same time frame as Tunnels & Trolls.
I went to DF and checked and mithras
Joined DF on: Thu Feb 20, 2003 11:41 pm
and his last login was on Last visited: Mon Jul 22, 2013 1:23 pm. So he has not been around for five years almost to the day. We would have to rewrite it and come up with a new name but if there are any writers among us this should be written up as an OGL game. Given the milieu we should be able to include everything that we would want without any issues.

This thread should be moved to the workshop and do something with it, it looks like it was abandoned and there is too much good stuff to go to waste.
