Okay, it varies from group to group and even from session to session. But what's your ideal physical setup for a game? Is there food? Pizza? Savory, crunchy snacks? No food? Drinks?
Where does it take place? A basement? A kitchen? A living room? What's the lighting like?

Ideal, would be a living room twice the size of mine, a single large solid wood table, that you can find at least a referee and ten players around. Choice of non-alcoholic drinks, Pizza, nuts, chips, cheeses and crackers.

When I think of gaming, I think of an idealized basement based on one where I played in high school. Fairly tight seating arrangement.
I'm ok with people eating whatever, and imagine that if the game is engaging, it doesn't matter who's chewing on what.
I don't really drink and wouldn't want drinking to be a thing at the table. Someone wants to have a single beer, gaming after work or whatever, ok by me.

A good play space - basement or kitchen table - with room for the DM, players, snacks, drinks, and good friends. Nothing too crazy.

I do all my gaming online these days due to my disabilities. I use Tabletop Simulator which is a complete 3D environment. Everyone is responsible for their own snacks. As it SHOULD be!

So we play in our unfinished but otherwise packed basement. Three large plastic and steel fold down tables pushed together with a variety of office chairs around it. Comfortably accommodates 8-9 players. We have a vinyl mat with a sheet of plexi over it and use wet erase markers with figs and tokens. There is a small pantry cupboard typically packed with a variety of crunchy snacks and a mini fridge with soft and not-so-soft drinks. When we play our alternating Sunday game we all bring a dish to pass or order food from somewhere. That session is longer (approx. 5 hours) so we gotta eat Sorry Mao, smokers gotta go outside.
