Some things, based on events, may disappear in which case I will try to do a strikethrough as you learn those things have changed.

Rumors Heard in Local Taverns
1. Someone, someone knows claims they heard chanting late at night in the ruins of a long forgotten keep about 20 miles to the northeast. There is talk of an expedition to investigate, but no one seems in any hurry to organize and lead such a group.
2. There are rumors of impending war with a kingdom on the eastern border (4 weeks travel) and possible conscription.
3. A new dungeon has been discovered a months travel to the southwest, well past the edge of the frontier, out in the wild places. Great riches abound, although no one knows anyone who has returned. Someone remembers that a couple of weeks ago a small group of strangers bought supplies and left heading southwest. Then just a few days ago a larger group of adventurers perhaps accompanied by some rash young townsmen left heading for this dungeon.
4. The Baron has offered a small bounty for information about both of these groups.
Jobs That are Being Advertised
1. Two merchant caravans that have recently arrived in town, they lost men in several attacks that they were able to fight off and need to hire more men for the next leg of the trade route. Two merchant caravans recently left town and other are expected to arrive within a week or so, caravans often are hiring.
2. A local mage is seeking a doughty crew to retrieve a small troll or a part of one for his research. This offer remains open, it is rumored that incentives might be on offer.
3. A group of merchants are seeking guards to help transport supplies to a border fort a weeks travel west of town. The last trip was a little dicey. This supply caravan for the fort recently left and the Baron reluctantly provided a half dozen guards.
Other Things Happening
1. Even though it is early spring, it is unusually warm and dry.
2. The river is oddly low for this time of year.
3. People are concerned about drought and famine.
4. Rumours are rife that the Baron may institute new restrictions and rules on the town and immediate surroundings. The poor are upset and grumbling has increased.
