Imagine a fantasy world where Rome never fell. The unifying force of this great empire is the state religion of Sanctus Ceasaria, a militant church with Ceasar at its head. Imagine that the world suffers a Great Ice Age during the height of Roma Aeternal. Was it caused by an Elf-Curse or has Ragnarok finally come? Have the Gods voiced their displeasure toward The Ceasar or has the Great Dragon of Sumeria swallowed the Sun? Sure.
I'm all for soliloquy and expositition, but 5-7 posts from any one player a week would be plenty, IMO. Some folks got stuffs to do all week and wouldn't be able to keep up with greater post rates. Obviously, certain situations - like intense combats - might raise this a bit.
... just trying to be considerate to potential players.

Hello all! I'm in for one! My first preferences are to play a human Fighter or a dwarf, but I will play a different class if necessary to fill in gaps in the party.

Okay - that's two players.
We'll give the forums a week to see this notice thread and then get started.
Download the campaign document and roll up a D&D Basic character under those guidelines. Advance your character to 3rd level with zero experience. (You'll have to gain all the xp to be at 3rd level to advance to 4th.)
Be creative and have fun ... this ought to be a wild ride.
