I still have some Crayola Model Magic clay left so I'm using the moongates from Ultima as inspiration for some "easier crafting". I've got the moongate, a base, and some small boulders drying right now; it's been about 10 hours. The good thing about Model Magic is there isn't a sense of urgency to finish RIGHT NOW so there's time to modify it before it becomes hard. On the other hand, the time it takes to dry can be somewhat irritating because it does take HOURS to dry. It's been around 10 hours so far and I'll update it with a total time later. This will also be the first miniature that I completely flock with sand and some small bits of grass. It should be interesting to see the final results. I'm not crafting an Ultima moongate but I am taking inspiration from it so the completed scenery minatures should look something like this. (Top image is form Ultima Online and the bottom image is Ultima 4, I believe.).

I'm still working on the moongate. I'm down to just needing the dirt & grass on the base to complete it but I'm not running to the big city to get that stuff right now. Something that surprised me was how well I liked the results on the four boulders with runes on them. I added these to the miniature to represent part of the magic around opening up a gate. I winged it and I'm pretty happy with it. I would make a few changes in the process if I did these again but it was definitely a "happy little accident" as Bob Ross would say.

As soon as the glue sits up correctly, I'm going to upload a picture or two. I'm pretty happy with the base of the moongate. There's a combination of grass, dirt, and gravel. I didn't really know what I was doing but I'm really satisfied with this first attempt and I will go back to some of my previously completed miniatures and add some of this stuff as well.
