20,000 Hours Playing D&D?

If he played 12 hours a day, 7 days a week, no breaks, that would take 4 1/2 years. 

Even if, 20,000 hours of D&D wouldn't make him an RPG expert. It would make him a D&D expert...maybe.

In 48 years, I am no where close to that many hours. I don't even have 10,000 hours under my belt.

I have been playing D&D since April, 1974 almost every week and since I retired, I have been playing 2-3 times a week, almost every week. No way he is at 20,000 hours. Even if he had 20,000 hours of D&D, that would not make him an RPG expert, and given what I have heard about Baldur's Gate, he is not a D&D expert either.

Besides, no one can declare themselves an expert, only other people can decide based on the evidence whether or not someone is an expert.

I've been playing for 50 years about 44-46 weeks each year and I am not yet up to 20,000 hours either. Even if it was true, that does not make him an expert as demonstrated by the bestiality in the game he wrote, now if he wants to claim he spent 20,000 hours perfecting his status as a deviant pervert, then I will grant him that status.

It seems that for some people, there isn't enough fantasy in the game. They need extra meta-gaming fantasy (fantasy about fantasy gaming).

I wish I could have racked up 20,000 hours during the years I was single and that I was playing that kind of hours now that I am a widower.
