I picked up some of the giant spider miniatures and they are definitely giant size BUT I wanted something that would resemble something more the size of Shelob. I was tempted to order one online, but I was at the Dollar General last year and found some Halloween decorations that would definitely work so I bought them. They came in a package of three but one of them was put on a mission at work. It scared several people that came into my work area to sign paperwork so it served that purpose quite well. I decided to paint one with standard acrylic paint and the other with the Vallejo Xpress Color. I've got a little bit of touch up left to do on the standard acrylic spider and then I'll add some dry brushing and probably some fluorescent green to the fangs to represent dripping venom. I'm still getting accustomed to the Xpress Color paint. It's one of the speed paint options available. I've watched several videos and you can paint a miniature with one solid color in one coat, but I haven't mastered the skill yet. I have been happy with the results of the Xpress Color paints and I will continue to use them even if I can't quite get it done in one coat.

The Gigantic Spiders are completed - see the pictures in the completed miniature thread - and I'm moving on to the "less than Gigantic" Giant Spiders.

The Gigantic Spiders are completed - see the pictures in the completed miniature thread - and I'm moving on to the "less than Gigantic" Giant Spiders. Now that I'm on Christmas shutdown without work commitments, I am going to try to finish up the last remaining bit of these miniatures. The Gigantic Spiders and the young (smaller) spiders are complete. I just have some victims in webbing to paint up. Pretty close to complete...
