Not surprised to see the Thieves World books go quickly. True, but I am surprised not to get an offer yet on the Fafhrd & Grey Mouser books.

Any oldschooler worth their salt probably have them already. Desirable as the hardcovers are, I have the paper back omnibus versions. They take up less space, and with my pile of books, space IS at a premium ;-) Hopefully you don't get whacked too harshly by sales taxes and fees on your offerings. That is what has curtailed much of my sales in the past few years.

The buyers pay the sales tax, but I pay fees and postage. Depending on the item and the total price fees and postage range from 40% to 60% of the total selling price. These two hard backs are six paperbacks for the contents, they actually take up less room than the six paperback due. I miss the old used book stores, where you go in and buy 20 used books, read them, trade them back in for credit and get more books paying just the sales tax. I bought and traded in thousands and thousands of books that way.

My heart broke when the owner retired and sold the place. The new owners ran it into the ground :-( The original owner managed a bookstore where I first bought Gamma World 1E, then shortly after opened his own store in my town. I bought the OD&D collectors edition boxed set from him for the princely sum of $10, cherish it still to this day. I've even kept some of his "The Book Centre" bookmarks as keepsakes. I shopped there so often I got a "family discount" lol.

I am fortunate the owner of the store still lives in the area and got wrangled into being a vendor this past summer at the comicon my Wife and some friends run. And he set aside some older D&D goodies for me to look over (and buy) knowing I was going to be in attendance so he's still around. Mostly doing the comic book thing though, and enjoying golf as a retiree. Info about this year's event for any who are curious www.fc3roc.com/showinfo
