FANTASTIC MEDIEVAL CAMPAIGNS is a new version of the original 1974 ruleset for fantasy wargaming campaigns, in four chapters and 224 pages:

Chapter I, Mortals & Magic: Explains how to generate fantastic characters, fight terrible monsters, and cast magical spells.
Chapter II, Monsters & Treasures: Lists different kinds of monsters and the treasures they guard from characters that encounter them.
Chapter III, Fantasy Adventures: Procedures for a vast campaign that will see adventurers delve into the Underworld and conquer the Wilderness.
Appendix A, Chain of Command: The default wargaming system for medieval battles on a mass or individual scale.
Appendix B, Indices: Compiled indices for monsters, tables, and spells to help cross-reference different sections of the book.
This campaign manual is freely available as a PDF, and may later be available at-cost as a hardcover book or as a set of booklets. A character record template and some reference sheets are also available to download.

Turns out she hates Gygax and the original game, this is the "blank" page in the back of the game book. She also posted this page on Twitter back on August 1st bragging about it printing correctly.

It has been trashed on Twitter and I think not giving her any press is best. Boycott, yeah, not getting a dime from me. I have heard over at odd74 they think she is the greatest thing since sliced bread. I was all set to support and old school female designer until I saw this garbage. So not old school, maybe not female either.

I've nothing to say that hasn't already been expressed above. It is sad that such "butt-hurt" has to bleed into the hobby though. Wait until s/he riffs off of the venerable Braunsteins

He said he was duped into giving a recommendation and that future recommendations will have to be vetted by him before it's given. Childish internet games do not help anyone.

Yesterday a person did an @ tweet to bring my attention to a new OD&D clone. I always support the indies because I feel all of us gamers are the heart and soul of our hobby.

Every Game Master is doing a little bit of personal game design in order to align the rules they use more closely to what they want. It is the beauty of our hobby.

I always try to retweet new product and I rarely have time to read it myself. It is a gesture of good will.

Yesterday was a big internet game I was not aware of. And to be honest, I feel like the people involved were using me, which is very rude, as I try to be supportive and kind about RT's. It speaks volumes about their character and almost zero about my own.

So then the drama began. I received a tweet showing the game designer using their game for other purposes.

It turns out the game designer was using their game system in order to do some kind of slam at Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson and everyone who worked with them.

Hey, I know they weren't perfect people. They had flaws. Yet, Gygax and Arneson are both geniuses on a level this copycat could never be. Reactionary politicizing in a work based entirely on their brilliance in order to sell yours is pathetic. I do not understand the point of it.

I re-read OD&D cover to cover about once a year. It is a seminal work. Without it no one would be playing an RPG today. And, yes, Gygax put some questionable content even in OD&D. It was spurious even when I first read it in the 70's.

To me, gaming is a way to bring people of all kinds together. I play with anyone who is willing to set aside real world BS and enjoy a game with friends.

It seems pretty obvious this designer and her friend thought they were being really clever by using me to reach everyone I have following me. Which, ironically, I would gladly do without any game playing.

It is childish and I do not support it.

Well, I un-supported by quietly deleting my promo tweet and any other comments related to the game. It was done with zero drama.

I never made any mean comments to this person, as I mostly try to minimize drama.

What is even more telling of their childishness is how the person who made the game has now blocked me. This is likely to avoid any criticism from me. When I messaged the person who originally brought it to my attention they pretended like they had no idea what I was talking about.

It was all a silly game to try to use me, and others, to market their divisive product. It's is sad, because at first glance it looked like a good set of rules with nice art.

I'm not going to share account names. I am out of the loop now.

What the new drama is, is a lesson to me.

I am no longer going to respond to strangers who tweet @ me for favors.

Do not use the @ tweet with me for things like this - I am likely to block you.

Those days of being openly helpful are done and over because it is too easy to abuse.

What is really odd is that this "author" that describes OD&D as deeply reactionary (whatever that is supposed to mean) if not fascist altogether was warmly embraced at odd74 which tells you just how little respect OD&D, Gygax and Arneson really have over there. So as OD&D fans they are pretty hypocritical.
