First Skynet went live last year when Alexa Echo devices and RingDoorBell camera gained the function of automatically networking with each other and piggy backing through WiFi on Internet connection near it. The tracking of entire neighbor hoods by video and voice is now a fact in many locations in entire cities. If you live within a half mile of any such device, at minimum your coming and going is tracked, your travel along sidewalks and streets and those who have the devices, what is going on in their home, all tracked and feed to a central locations. Must humans are not fully aware of the reach and privacy invasion they devices have. But not with the rise of A.I. image generators, artist have begun to fight back and the first part of the war has begun. Humans are saying track us every moment of every day and we don't really care, but taking away our creativity is a bridge too far and so the war begins. AI-Created Comic Could Be Deemed Ineligible for Copyright ProtectionThe person behind this, Kris Kashtanova, stared the project to honor her late grandmother. She can appeal the pending denial of copyright and we will see what happens. The copyright office is saying a human must create something for it to be eligible for copyright. The previous granting of copyright is said to be a mistake by the United States Copyright Office. This is a strange twist because the gov is in bed with Skynet.

Notice there is no method by which you can access this tracking network for your own benefit (alibi - "I was walking in another neighborhood at that time!").

It can only be used against you and all the tracking happens even if you don't own or use it directly. If even one of your neighbors has it you are in the web. And lots of your neighbors have it. If you have a smart phone you are automatically looped in. I think the flip phones are safer, but I don't know to what degree. (As long as you do not have a data plan, I think)

What on earth is this stuff even for (nominally)?

I think I read something about this, those smart devises, the echo and ring door bell are designed to connect to every smart device in range and transmit back to Amazon.

SkyNet, 1984 and a Brave New World. Spooky!! Between the technology and the authoritarians, it is beginning to look like those authors were optimists.

I get where the lack of online privacy is under attack but my only exposure to it is I love the algorithms that youtube uses, it enhances my music listening.I really should be more upset but I have too much on my plate to care about it.AI is over my paygrade and it is here to stay.
