Right off the bat, Man to Man Combat is the main of the 3 combat systems of Chainmail you ought to be using in a typical 0D&D game.
Why, you might ask? It's the most probable system to use in typical 0D&D encounters. Few dungeons have so many combatants encountered that Troop Combat would be necessary, but you miles may vary. The 2d6 system is dead simple to use, and parrying and countering options (not present in the D20 Alternative) aren't much harder to figure out for players or monsters. The details baked in to the Man to Man system provide more player investment in combat situations, rather than just trying to get a flanking position on the monster and then rolling to hit/repeat - without overbearing players with a slog of rules.
Also, multiple attacks based on FC/HD is a great feature for aspiring characters seeking badassery.
I actually think I like 2D6 rather than D20 ... maybe my Traveller love is showing through ... LOL
Heey Mikey, HE LIKES IT, HE LIKES IT!

Both interesting and disturbing, we found that certain monsters punch way above their pay grades in certain modes of combat ...
Trolls, I'm looking at you.
