To date I have resisted the "Shark..." B-flick train though maybe I'm missing out??? I prefer teh really oddball and under-the-radar offerings like the $5k budget Necropolis Awakened or the phenomenal Bruce Campbell Bubba-Hotep. I guess being dragged to JAWS as a kid BiTD put me off of any shark related offerings ;-)

I've done my best to avoid them with the Sharknado series being the big exception. Of course, a few years ago when my son was younger, the shark movies were all the rage, so I watched Megashark, Mecha Shark, and others on Netflix. JAWS and THE EXORCIST scarred me as a child. I distinctly remember covering my head with my blanket at night with only a peep hole left open for me to see. I had an absolute obsession with ensuring the bathroom and closet doors were both CLOSED before turning off the light.

JAWS was the first movie that made me enjoy the jump scares. I was pretty young when I saw it.

I am going to be an old man on this subject. The B movies today do not have the "soul" of the ones from the 50's and 60's ones. The new ones just fall flat for me. GET OFF MY LAWN!!!!! Speaking of "Bs", "The Raven" is on ME TV on Saturday at 8 pm.

Speaking of "Bs", "The Raven" is on ME TV on Saturday at 8 pm. You're absolutely right! Most of the modern B films truly lack the charm of the older ones. Thankfully, there are exceptions, but I wish there were more of them. One such exception that we have talked about before is Stake Land. I wish there were more B movies such as this.

I have enjoyed a lot of the Shark movies and the movies with crosses between different see creatures. I think they are fun and while not to the level of the old "B' movies from back in the day, still worth watching for fun. Bitd those "B" movies, at least some of them had some pretty good acting.
