It looks like the switch from OD&D to AD&D was gradual through about 1980 (#20).

I really miss those old days of the magazine scene. There was a lot of great information and ideas from White Dwarf, The Space Gamer, and some others. I remember going to the FLGS and picking up 4 or more magazines instead of a new gaming product. I really wish that time frame oculd have duplicated with the internet and the web sites for various game companies but it never was the same.

I have the old White Dwarf magazines. There's some good stuff in there. The British take on the game is very interesting.
