Maldito County, Montezuma Territory, 1880. West of the map is Chaves County and to the North lies El Dorado County. Eastward, one will find New Mexico Territory; Southbound travelers will reach Old Mexico. Maldito County's borders are from Kino City to The Rio Estigio, North and South; and from Fort Crockett to The New Mexico Territory, West to East. Each square on the above map is 7.5 miles. Gadsden is the County Seat, with a population of 1700 people and 55 buildings. Most amenities one would go looking for can be found here with relative ease. The Wells Fargo Coach Service has a branch here and The Maldito Witness Newspaper & Telegraph Office is also based here. The Wolfe Trading Post is the busiest merchant in town, but the Good Intensions Hotel and the Quite Frankly Saloon could give it a run for its money on Saturday nights. Purgatory is a growing boom town with 950 people and 25 permanent buildings. Silver miners and ranchers alike have been drawn here in recent times due to lucrative opportunities. Soez Junction is little more than a railway hub of around 300 folks, mostly copper miners, though a few Mexican sheep ranchers have roots planted here. Kino City (also called Capella de Christo) is home to the oldest church in the territory, but is otherwise just a small settlement of 100 souls and 8 permanent buildings. Just outside the surveyed county, Diablo is a lawless, one street, railroad camp - notorious for scum and villainy! Along Hell Street, amidst the stinking tent cities, one will find 14 saloons, 4 dance halls, 2 brothels, a general goods trading post, and all the hellraising one can tolerate.
