Shinobi & Samurai is another game based on OD&D, but it is simplified. It is also designed for campaigns in an Oriental (gotta make it PC) Asian setting.

You never know. hengest I think it should be legit to use a lot of real world flavor in settings without having to worry about it being PC or super accurate. One could argue that super accurate might be really insulting in some cases. Seeing things in games makes you curious to look them up and learn more about them.

Can't be any worse or inaccurate than Oriental Adventures for 1E AD&D. I know that book took some serious criticism but I still have copies on my bookshelf. I'll never run it but it's great for ideas.

Like I told other people in a Facebook thread that while Oriental Adventures was a little roughly put together, it was a sincere effort to take the game in a new directions and attract a large fan base who might have a cultural connection with the east. In my high school, I remember a Chinese-Canadian friend carrying a copy of Oriental Adventures around everywhere for a couple of weeks at my high school after it came out. But now I've thought about it more. AD&D itself was no less grossly inaccurate with its mish-mash of literature, mythology, and pseudo-medievalism than Oriental Adventures with its mash-mash of Chinese and Japanese and other things that looked cool from the east cooked together.
Forgot to add, there is now of course, White Box Eastern Adventures. It probably should be title Japanese Adventures, but it does quasi-mythological medieval Japan well.
