I spend a lot of time following threads of references in this. I used it to look up Hermes, pontifex, and druid in preparation for the now-stalled Halgagraf battle I am running. My campaign is early medieval which makes this more relevant for Middelsae than it would be for someone's campaign with a later medievalish feel, but even if you do not have a Europe like setting, the mythological entries along with some the historical entries such as the druid will provide good background for the many elements of D&D - monsters come to mind - which are based on classical (mostly Greek) history.
