Do you have a favorite Cryptid? For me, I have to go with Bigfoot. I'm not swearing that it's real, but I'm fascinated by the whole Bigfoot experience and the claims of those that swear they've had encounters. Oklahoma even has the Honobia Bigfoot Festival with seminars, workshops, etc. over an entire weekend. I would like to go some time just for the experience.

I have to go with Bigfoot, I don't believe it exists, but I wish that it did.

Also don't believe in Bigfoot (but would be awesome).
I have a friend who is into cryptids and even more into the idea of people who are into cryptids. He showed me some of that awesome world. It is totally cool that people can get that fired up about something that is not even close to political. They really want to see whether this cool thing is physically real and I am a-ok with that.

I've heard from two unrelated sources in the area of Ohio where I grew up that earlier this year, the corpse of a 'Bigfoot' was recovered from a woven nest of grass by paramedics and local police responding to an emergency call by the hikers that discovered it. This was reported on Local TV news a few times, and then abruptly stopped being a story. Interestingly, one of the attempted interviewed was a Smithsonian representative who was at the scene and any declined comment.
One of my sources is quite reliable and could easily be a professional witness in any court of law in the country. He has commented to me that the weirdness of this story is how fast it became a non-story and how no one involved are talking. If this were real or hoax, someone, somewhere, would be moving to confirm or deny. Everyone in the region remembers the news and has heard the story; yet the professionals (police, news, media, emergency first responders, etc.) involved are absolutely silent and will not comment one way or the other - almost as if under some kind of official gag-order under penalty of ... well, you know.
The region I speak of has been relatively well documented for 'Ohio Grass Man' sightings for well over 100 years or so. For cryptid folks, this is kind of a big deal - as much so as any Washington State Sasquatch, Bogey Creek Monster, or Skunk Ape sightings.
Several of my relatives, most all passed away now, had strange stories about what is in those woods. They were all good hunters and had a wealth of wilderness knowledge. If they said there was something out there, and they did; I believe them.
Anyways ...
Strangest story I've heard all year, shared with y'all for the spooky season.

Yeah, when things so silent quickly, someone is enforcing the silence.
