Back in the day it was Satanists, but thankfully we don't have to deal with this today, what with the Mexicans taking their jobs and Gay people converting their children, and Muslims stealing all of the negative press. It's not Rock & Roll's fault or D&D, it was really video games and the Internet the whole time. Who knew? Oh, wait, 700 Club still says that D&D is a dangerous and satanic game so strick that.  |

mao why did you delete your post? There was nothing in it that was offensive - there is nothing wrong with you being both Christian or a Republican, both are good & valid things Mao.

I deleted my post referring to both my real world politics & spirituality to be in compliance with the new rules. I've grown to love this forum, of the ones I am a member of I feel like I am home - maybe it is the small niche based community; but it is a fun place to be. Thank you all for your kindness & good humor. I hope that we can keep this place livened up with great conversation.

I deleted my post referring to both my real world politics & spirituality to be in compliance with the new rules. I've grown to love this forum, of the ones I am a member of I feel like I am home - maybe it is the small niche based community; but it is a fun place to be. Thank you all for your kindness & good humor. I hope that we can keep this place livened up with great conversation. While I appreciate your willingness to play fair? If memory serves, that post linked your personal outlook (as briefly referenced above) to your campaign world and would therefore be allowable under the spirit of our community guidelines. The violation would come from repeated references to same, to your candidate of choice, or how (the other guys) are wrecking the USA, etc.; or from others attacking you for those views. Your behavior throughout the recent dustup was exemplary and none of us mods had any issue with your posts. On the contrary, I’ve really enjoyed your campaign world posts. |

@piper, I was referring to a post in the 666 thread in reply to a post mao had posted. Though we both share similar politics, we don't share a faith but I expressed my support for it. He deleted his post in hopes to keep controversial real world stuff out of the forum; so I followed suit to be in compliance to the rules & to follow his example. My posts that help spark the controversy are still there - I stand by my views, as they were in context to the discussion & explained my world building philosophy. Several people came to my defense in that thread & I appreciated it greatly. |

Okay, I was a bit confused, thanks for clearing that up. I think a deleted post is one of the saddest things I can think of. I’ve done it a few times myself, but I always feel bad about it.

My basic philosophy is treat everyone with basic human dignity & respect, whether you agree with them or not or even like them. That said, I can be a bit harsh especially if I feel I am being unjustly maligned but I still try to not get personal about it - like in the "controversial" threads. But even I occasionally fail.

I haven't always purported myself as such - I was a very angry & hurt young man - I could be cruel and cold at times. But I got sick of being that guy, it didn't help my life, but helped keep me from my goals and from building solid relationships. You have to learn from your mistakes if you are to grow, but I let my pain & rage blind me for far too long; I now trying to rebuild. That philosophy was hard won, but I try to embrace it.
