I just read that Queen Elizabeth II has died at the age of 96 after ruling for 70 years. Her oldest son is now King Charles at the age of 73. She was able to stand two days ago, when she approved the newest Prime Minister. I can't imagine how the British people are feeling right now. My condolences to her family.

She was a remarkable woman and for someone in that position, a very likeable person.

Now we only know the old Queen, but she was a very attractive woman when she was young and aged really well. She also leaves big shoes to fill and I don't think King Charles the III is up to the task. If he lives as long as his dad he will reign for 26 years or not. I am wondering if the job will still be around when it is his sons turn.

I think Charles will do B- or so If everyoe gives him a chance but I really doubt that is going to happen.

The Queen seemed to comport herself with dignity, which is a good example for everyone in public life. It seems to be beyond many.
That said, I had next to no idea what the job really is. So I have no way of knowing how Charles will do with it. I don't have any English friends and have really no idea whether the job will still be around in a couple decades. But for what it's worth, I wish him well with his new responsibilities.

Also she seems to have had a fantastic sense of humor.

I just can't really tell what the monarch and the royal family are supposed to do. I'm sure they do stuff, I just never got a good sense of it.

It is all about ceremony, pomp and circumstance and backing up the Prime Minister. They do a lot of stuff that would really be a waste of time for the Prime Minister.
