I am going to try my own mini-hook thread and emulate hengest and join The Semi-Retired Gamer who is also doing it. 1. While out walking in his field a farmer sees a black ooze coming up out of the ground under the large spreading tree in the middle of the field. 2. Farmers find the fruit rotting on their fruit trees. 3. Farmers on the way to town to sell their produce, find a big sinkhole has taken out the roadway. |

4. In the middle of a sunny day, all the dogs start howling and then it changes to whimpering.
5. The middle of a plowed field catches fire and smoke begins to billow.
6. Oddly, the dungeon entrance looks almost like a mouth.

7. Stone walls begin to slowly crumble day by day.
8. Water bursts forth from the lone boulder that sits in the center of the village.
9. The water in the local well turns black and begins to smell of sulfur.

11. A block of ice that chills the area around it, but never melts.
12. 25 oddly shaped lumps of clay.

13. The widow at the end of the land has a randomly appearing number of stuffed and mounted black cats in the windows of her house, as you pass by their eyes follow you.
14. In the center of the village stands a tall metallic pole, it has always been there, no one knows who erected it. At the top there is a framework attached from which hand ten equally spaced bells, they ring in the slightest breeze and sometimes when there is no breeze. The sound is of a medium pitch and melodic, oddly in the highest winds, they remain silent.
15. In your village the local farmer has a cow that always gives exactly three gallons of rich, creamy, milk. Twice a day, every day, even in dry drought times when the grass is dry and brown.

20. As you travel through the forest you notice that it is becoming more dense and darker. The road narrows down to just a path, then a tree falls across the path in front of you and behind you.

Thank you, I am kind of fond of it myself, but I see I left out the word "draw" right before "nigh". I always have to let something sit and then go back and correct my mistakes, especially missing words, that seems to be what I do the most. |

It could just be a taunting voice from some local pranksters at the edge of a thick forest or it could be pack or orcs waiting in ambush or several other things.
