Do you keep a campaign log of your groups ongoing adventures? Some groups keep detailed logs, some keep a few notes, and other don't keep any notes at all. What do you do?

We never kept any sort of detailed notes. Some of the players did jot down some important events or NPCs sometimes. I would keep track of events and NPCs for the games I ran so my games would have some consistency.

I wish I had kept detailed summaries. I kept some info such as events and NPCs and such. But I have not kept much long term.

I'm with you PD. BiTD I'd try my best to keep detailed logs as a DM but it interrupts the free flow of my off-the-cuff creativity to have to constantly write stuff down ;-) These days I jot down idea and memory joggers such as names and places I thought up at the moment. I do have a .pdf "log" from a 1E AD&D game here drive.google.com/file/d/1yHNQ4HIiUn7azg13syfsJ7dtbETyJuC6/viewLet me know if there are any viewing issues. Please pardon any sloppy handwriting, misspelling and poor grammar lol

I (hopefully) updated access so that anyone with the above link can read the log if desired. Let me know if it doesn't work.

No, we never kept records, that never occurred to us. Just one of the ways we screwed up.

Without slowing the game to a crawl to take notes. You need to either record it or even better have an old timey secretary to take shorthand and then type it out. Oh man, that would be awesome.

I have no idea how to do it efficiently other than the method you proposed. It would have to be the old timey secretary, because I would never have the patience or time to transcribe recordings. I would have to hit the lottery to afford to hire someone to take the notes.

No never have, did not think there would ever be any interest. If we had only known or even suspected. From reading here and there around the Internet, it is pretty evident that keeping campaign logs was pretty rare and detailed ones, even moreso.
