SlarnNumber Appearing | Number In Lair | AC | Move Rate | HD | Lair Nearby | Treasure Type | Alignment | 2-10 | 15-30 | 7 | 9 | 1 | 25 | I | N |
SLARNS are a roughly man-sized race of reptilian humanoid folk. All Slarn are able to blend into their background much like a Thief will hide in shadows; see the character race entry for details. They prefer warmer climates and are most often encountered in jungles, swamps, and desert-like regions; they can be found in other areas, but the possibility decreases as the climate becomes cooler. Although curious they tend to be extra cautious because they have been confused with the much more savage Lizardmen at times. Slarns typically use swords and spears for weapons but skip wearing any type of armor due to their thick, tough scaly hide. When encountering a group of Slarn, there is a 40% chance that approximately 25% of them will be several levels higher than the main body of the group; for every level over the first, these Slarn will improve their AC by 1 up to a maximum of AC 2. If there is a leader present, there is a 10% chance they will be using a +1 sword or spear. This can be considered the first draft. Suggestions & feedback are always welcomed!

That is a cool name for a monster. I googled it and nothing really came up, yet it sounds like an old time monster name from bitd.
