Basically, I've seen Akira, Robotech, and a little bit of DragonBall Z. What do you recommend? Haven't seen much myself, but I really liked "The Wind Rises" and "Spirited Away".

Haven't seen much myself, but I really liked "The Wind Rises" and "Spirited Away". That's a start. I'll check them out. Spirited Away may appeal to kids (not only kids, I would guess). The Wind Rises might not be interesting to little kids, but definitely (I think) adults and some adolescents.

Dragon ball series, Record of Lodus War(best fight with dragon in cinema history), Fist Of The North Star, very interesting take on apocalyptic kung fu movie mega violence
