We were scheduled for 10 hours of overtime today but only had enough parts for 5 hours of work. I decided to stop by Top Shelf Models and check out the store. I had planned on going several times, but I never got around to doing so. Their stock was mostly traditional models from the mundane to science fiction, but I also found some Warhammer figures and several kinds of paint. To my surprise, I stumbled across some Tamiya liquid cement. I've heard the praises of this product on youtube but all the videos claimed it was not widely available in America so it would take several weeks to over a month to receive it after ordering. There it was sitting on the shelf and the price was just under $6 so I bought it. I'll be testing it out soon. I decided to stop at Hobby Lobby next to see what they had in stock. I bought 4 bottles of Vellejo paints and a pack of brushes. Three of the bottles were bought to flesh out my collection but the Blue Violet was bought because my daughter asked me to paint her a miniature, but it had to be pink. I have a pink color already, so I'll be using the Blue Violet as a secondary character. A friend of mine from high school saw my daughter's request so she also made a request for a miniature. Definitely unexpected but kind of cool that I had a few people ask for miniatures painted by me. I'm no great painter but I'll hook them up as best as I can. The brushes were a set of 7 for only $6.99 and I picked them up simply because it had some of the smaller brushes in the pack and I'm not at a skill point where I "need" expensive brushes.

I went to Top Deck Games yesterday with the intent of picking up 2 or 3 bottles of paint, but I failed my save vs. Indulge so I left with a bit more. I bought 4 bottles of paint (Dungeon Slime, Skeleton Bone, Undead Flesh, & Warlock Purple) to fill some gaps in my supplies. I've been looking for a skeleton and an undead color and I was lucky to find both of them. The Warlock Purple will help with female characters and the Dungeon Slime should help with a stuff that needs a glowing green effect. They have the best in store selection of miniatures available and I bought 8 of them. I've been wanting some doors to just throw down occasionally, so it was a good find resulting from the random browsing. I found a pack of Skeletons and I also found a Crypt Guardian Skeleton that will serve as a Bone Guardian for my campaign. I rounded out the monsters with some Feral Rats and some Large Spiders. Finally, I picked up 3 minis to serve as possible player characters - a Paladin, a Witch, and a Lizardman (to use as a Slarn in my campaign). With a little bit of luck, I will be able to start painting these soon.

Along with the Vallejo Xpress Colors, I also picked up few other items. A new miniature, a Grave Wraith. A new brush from The Army Painter. A bottle of The Army Painter Metallic Gun Metal paint.

I almost forgot. I picked up some based as well. They are green but there are many of them in the bag. Plus, it's getting a light coat of primer anyway so it doesn't matter a bit.

I picked up 2 new brushes today. One is for dry brushing and the other is for very fine detail like eyes. I'll see how they work soon..
