Following the example of XXX, I'm going to try to hint at a setting.
Let's see. I'll just type words, use tables if I need to, then copy/paste and do striketroughs if I need to cancel anything.
Large but limited world
Many shallow seas but very deep lakes
World and its features should generally be fixed (this world is not in obvious process of being created)

Large but limited world (size of Europe? Portugal to Moscow)
Many shallow seas but very deep lakes (the encircling seas are wadable in places, but the lakes are like our oceanic trenches with Wild Things down in the depths)
World and its features should generally be fixed (this world is not in obvious process of being created) (this is to keep me from having too much in-flux stuff instead of actually designing the world)

World and its features should generally be fixed ( this world is not in obvious process of being created) (this is to keep me from having too much in-flux stuff instead of actually designing the world) The above should apply largely to the basics of the world and its functions, but not necessarily to civilizations, social groups, etc. In fact, there should be areas that are in flux, unclear to what polity they belong, if indeed they belong to any. The real-world phenomenon of a culture that imitates another while railing against it could be of interest and should be implemented to some degree. |
