What is your favorite fairly standard magic item?
Mine is the Bag of Holding. It frees you up substantially from worrying about encumbrance (as a personal item, less so as a group item), it allows you to carry more gear (rations, torches, arrows, etc) and it allows you to get more treasure out of the dungeon. And that is just scratching the surface.
How about you, what is your favorite and why?

I like Bracers of Defense AC 2 version. It gives you the protection of plate and shield, but you can still move quietly and you can carry more due to the reduced encumbrance. Also it stacks with things like magical cloaks, Ring of Protection and other AC enhancers, just not armor.

As a DM I love the "Arrow of Dragon Slaying", I often let a 1st or low level party find one and then enjoy how the party discusses how, when or whether to use is, whether to start inquiring about local dragons ro just keep the arrow until it's needed, etc.
