The poem "Funeral Blues" has the memorable line "Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun."
How about not a microplane, not exactly, but a vantage point or a wizard's tower from which heavenly (or other natural) phenomena look trivial, as if they're all cheap effects on a set for a morality play just outside the window. Instead of sunset, it looks like a lantern is extinguished and hung up all dark and smoking on a hook. The waxing moon looks like a torch that is just getting going. Spring flowers in the meadow nearby are...
