Northern Europe was not quite my first love among these things, but it is really growing on me. Nice find, good flavor, interested to learn more.
There are cultural connections between all these parts of the ancient and medieval world. The Scandinavians and the Slavs, the Slavs and the Byzantine Empire, the English and the others...those interconnections seem very inspiring on their own.

There is more information available that you could read or watch in a dozen lifetimes. It forces us to skim most of it.

Makes you wonder what is buried out there that no one knows about. I think the odds are high that there are massive treasures that no one suspects that they exist.
