Open Ended Original Edition Old School Fantasy Adventure Sandbox Role Playing Games (OEOEFASRPG™) The Open-Ended Sandbox Exploration of Dungeons, Wilderness and Cities.
In this episode charatcers are rolled as the Referee describes events leading the players into the game session. This is best described as a series of videos of a session zero, which is dumb, because I count from 1 and up. Thus I call this Session One, Part -1.
This is the second in a series from a demonstration game that Griff ran for some gamers from all over the planet via Zoom. Daniel is in the USA, Henry is in Austrailia, and Rasmus is in Denmark. We are playing OD&D with only the three core classes and NPC specialists.
The Players enter the city and make contact with the Assassins Guild who are in need of someone to infiltrate the Thieves Guild. Vestfold is in a state of turmoil as crisis looms in the distance, The Egg of Coot's minions are on the move.
The elements of conspiracy derive from David Wesely's, Braunstein games; where everyone is colluding against everyone else and you can't truly know who is friend or foe. Fog of War, or rather, not being fully aware about every detail of a situation is the key to running city adventures with lots of encounters and the potential for players to choose any option they would like.
As with the previous installment, at least half of what is presented was made up as the game progressed. The best example is the bar fight scene. It just came out of nowhere. Consider that your die rolls are like tarot cards, you can read them and they will tell you what you, the Referee, should to do next.
We end with a teaser of the next episode when a surprise vistor arrives in the game session.

Family Board Game.Sadly David had some tech problems and his camera would not work. He did regale us with some tales from the very first Role Playing Adventures in Blackmoor which may have occured as early as 1970.This video may send a lot of RPG historians back to their notes to see how things match up.Also, thank you to The Dungeon Hobbyshop Museum for the use of the TSR logo.https://tsrmuseum.com/For more Retro RPG viewing follow the link below:https://vimeo.com/ondemand/sobfinal/3... you for watching, please feel free to comment.
