Wkuater is the largest continent and is where The Ruins of Murkhill can be found. It has an area of about 27,000,000 square miles and is a long continent setting at a 45 degree angle to the lines of latitude. It has four long mountain chains that run north-west to south-east in orientation. The further west you go the bigger they get. Between the mountain chains are high plains, deserts, grasslands, forests, swamps, massive rivers and giant lakes.

Mountains
The Gray Peak Mountain Range
The far west mountains are the youngest and they jut up in massive peaks of stone. Clouds drop rain on the way up the mountains west side and then drop huge amounts of snow throughout. There are a couple of huge high gaps that funnels rain clouds through to the other side, but most of the moisture falls on the west side. These mountains have permanent glaciers, that are still growing. The lower elevations abound with springs and streams which eventually turn into rivers. Some of these springs exit on the east side of the mountains. The terrain is rugged and populated by dragons, giant and other creatures.
Their name comes from the fact that the peaks stick up above the highest reach of the glaciers.

Foothills
The foothills on the western side of The Gray Peak Mountain Range sprawl from the base of the mountains west to the ocean in the north a distance of 100 miles, but in the south they reach 200 miles before dropping on into plains which stretch the rest of the way to the ocean.
The foothills are a rolling land of sometimes gentle slopes, but more often steep and treacherous, cliffs abound. Picking your way through this terrain the first time often involves a lot of back tracking and wise travelers follow the rivers when possible, but much of the time it is not possible. These area are rich and fertile, and populated with all manner of creatures, prey and predator. Creeks, streams, rivers and waterfalls abound in the mountains and the foothills as the rush towards the sea. There are caves, abundant throughout these areas, that are home to many animals and to other more intelligent creatures, both benign malovent.
