Are the covers just heavier white paper or did you find some specialty paper? Those look really good!
Oh BTW love the jar of dice!

These look fantastic. A treasure trove. My commendations on your organization, dedication, and tasteful printing! To up the content of my post, a couple questions: - Do you refer to them actively in-game or are these more for perusal and planning-reference?
- Do you have separate private notebooks with notes that you refer to regularly?

Are the covers just heavier white paper or did you find some specialty paper? Those look really good! The covers for the original booklets and supplements 1-2 are printed on a heavy weight ivory-colored paper. The covers for supplements 3-4 are on a heavy weight glossy white. 2nd ed. Chainmail is also on ivory paper but with the yellow it looks pretty good except for the empty bleed marks on the top and bottom. The interiors standard printer paper -- and noticeably higher quality than the authentic originals haha. NOTE: The silver 3rd ed. Chainmail and Swords & Spells were "print-on-demand" from DrivethruRPG. And thank you very much Halenar, I could not have done it without your help!

Thanks, I am very pleased with them. 1. I just got most of these assembled this weekend, so I have not yet tried to use them in game. I have had the yellow Chainmail for awhile so I do use that to refer to the combat charts during games. I am casually reading through the others... for me it's the first time reading in the glorious original order, hobbits and all. 2. At the table, I have a 3-ring binder which I use for rules reference. In it I have the "Greyharp" Single Volume Reference document, and a copy of Daniel Norton's Chainmail/OD&D document. I printed them out and annotate my own notes where needed.

You are quite welcome, did you print the rest of them yourself or at a print shop?

I did some editing and arranging of PDFs and then had them printed by Staples online print service. It took them about 2 weeks but they did a nice job and shipped them to me from Georgia.

They look like some kind of "new" heirlooms or ancient artifacts. I just love the wrap-around from them to now, those booklets to these booklets. Really very powerful image you posted. For those in this hobby, I guess. I suppose to most people it would just look like some kind of pamphlets.

Amazing! I've always heard people had issues with getting printers to print these items out. I've been standoffish about doing it but I would definitely like a collection like this for myself. Did you encounter any hassles from the printers?

What did you have to do in terms of editing and arranging? I replaced the scanned cover pages with blank white backgorund PDF pages, which were made for printing on colored or parchment paper (these blank white covers were available on the Trove before it was taken down). Several of the documents required the addition of blank pages here, either between the cover and the first page, or at the end. This is needed in order to get to a proper page count for booklet printing (which must be a multiple of 4). I had to do some rearranging to get the proper page facing as well, in order to match the layout of the originals. Finally, when you print a booklet the page edges don't line up perfectly and the whole booklet needs to be trimmed. This can cause some letters to be cut off if there isn't a full enough margin on the non-gutter edges of the pages. I did some re-sizing of the pages but still there were some letters cut off (especially in Greyhawk). If I ever print more I will fix it more precisely.

That is beautiful! Would you mind giving us a ballpark on the cost of the printing?

That is beautiful! Would you mind giving us a ballpark on the cost of the printing? Around $65 for the LBBs and supplements, including shipping. Plus around $15 for Chainmail and Swords & Spells (during the "Christmas in July" sale on DrivethruRPG).

...how are they bound? Did I miss that? "Saddle stitched." They are printed on letter-sized paper, then folded in half and stapled in the center just like the originals. So the page size is 8.5 x 5.5. Covers are heavy weight paper. Interiors are standard printer paper.

I don't have anyway to trim them at home, not that will cut that thickness.
