NOTE TO SELF< POST LINKS GIVING CREDIT
I roll the encounter die every (take special note of if timing needs to be adjust, iI want the sweet spot, edit this out after play) 2 turns or if about 20 min of real time have passed without a roll (I don't count during combat) and the following table is consulted: 1. Encounter 2. Monster sign/spoor etc. 3. Dungeon effect (I write X a list in advance) 4. Expire (lights burn out, spells, conditions and ongoing effects end) 5. Rest (consume rations (1/party) or penalty 6. No effect

I honestly feel that this is the best thing since sliced bread. I am going to base all of Spear on it. Gonna go up to a 1D8 or 1D10 but keep the flavor

Main Cavern Level 1 open, Monster, Roll 1d30
0) (very first encounter of new group) Dead Gug(A very big one, Filled w parasites, badly decomposed, can't tell it is a gug, looks like fur covered giant) Ac 9 1d4 HD 1D2 Damage This will only be encountered once.
1) 2 Anabji(good looking gnoll cousins in Egyptian garb) AC 6,2HD , damage 1d8, mace, one on a miss, wicker shield every round roll 1d6, 1-4 attack, 5-6 Hide behind shield , shield takes 10 HP
2) 2 Anibaji one of which has no shield and at zero(I use zero as unconscious, other wise he is at 1 ) As they are cowards they will always be encountered in pairs.
3) one Gnoll(standard) AC 6 , 2 hd, mace 1d8 in miss 1 hp is done.
4) Orc(standard) Not very agressive but will fight ferciously if provoked AX 7 Leather and ratty shield(symbol of Boar) Long Sword 1d8 plus criticals on a 19-20
5) Scorpion, Large(out stretched hand size) Will only fight if bothered
6) 2d3 Orcs
7) 2d2 gnolls
8) Skeleton ac 6, 1 hd, short sword(+1, not magic or masterwork not a treasure)
9) 1d6 skeletons
10) zombie ac 9 fists d6, 2 hd
11)1dd6 zombies
12)Jackal ac 7 1d4 hp, 1d6 damage

Do these in order, numbered for convenience
1) Orc Seductress (Huh?). Scantily dressed, extra thin, face smashed apart Dances up to party, begging for money in Elvish with out streched hand will only leave if paid(any amount)
2) Drunken Gnoll that will not die or do damage, , falls down a lot so he can be left behind or tied up.
3) Huge barrel of whisky, bad surrounded by various humanoids They are oblivious to anything. all facing barrel from side opposite from PCs if the barrel all of the "drunken" listings are now sober and mad.
