Shahmaran (Kurdish : Şahmaran) (Persian: Şamaran; Turkish: Şahmeran, Tatar: Şahmara / Шаһмара / literally, shah (king) of the snakes.) is a mythical creature from the folklore of The Kurdish people. Shahmaran is known as the queen of the serpents. This story can be traced from the Middle East to India with different variations.
