The Storozian Empire Campaign is from bitd and I will be posting here from time to time about some of the things that I remember from those days.
The country of Storoz is an entire continent somewhat like Austrailia, but about half the size and much greener and more fertile. The Storozian people are an attractive friendly people who are by nature cheerful and open in their dealing with others. They are fiercely loyal to their friends and obsessively deadly to their enemies. They are a seagoing people and they carry on a lot of trade with many peoples and dominate the seas. The men average seven and a half feet tall and weigh around 400 lbs and the women average seven feet tall and about 270 lbs. Their appearance is lean and muscular with dark olive skin and brown eyes.
For all their friendliness, they are quite choosy about who they call friends and for one who is chosen as a friend it is the same as being adopted into their family. They are organized in clans and most of the interaction with other people are the great trading clans that dominant the port cities and the seas. They also have the mercenary and adventuring clans whose members go out into the world to gain fighting experience and plunder before settling down to raise families and defend there land. The women spend their entire lives in their birth clan (with rare exceptions) and when they marry the man joins the clan that his wife belongs to (again with rare exceptions). Once in 20-30 generations a new clan is formed by a Storozian woman and her husband. (There are a number of ways this can happen with all of them involving adoption into the clan in the initial generation.)
The major port cities are bustling cities that have people from all countries and peoples that the Storozians do business with and people come from all over to recruit Storozians into their ventures.
This was part of the unseen background behind the Storozian PCs that were in the campaign. Downsides to playing a Storozian were that young Storozians have quick tempers, tend to be impetuous, tend to over estimate themselves and under estimate their opponents and tend to be a bit gullible at first.
