My favorite is Golden, mainly because they are Lawful and the one you are most likely to survive meeting.

My pick is the Red Dragon, the epitome of the evil dragon. Makes Smaug look like a wimp.

I like black dragons, with their black hearts. The hearts are worth almost as much as the treasure.

Other_ Silver- I had a DM PC that was a shapechanging silver that could turn into a human fighter. He is my all time fav NPC nd a lot of my players thought that too.

I think Golden would be more interesting and lead to the most possibilities. Once the dragon starts talking to the PCs, almost anything could happen.

I voted black, but I would like to see a dirt-colored dragon whose iridescence you can see only close up.
Such a dragon might also be nonmagical until "closer inspection," if you ever get close.

But this particular dragon I imagine as either really filthy (which covers its iridescence) or actually dirt-gray except for the roots of its scales. Why I want this dragon to be this way, I don't know. Maybe it's because of this dirt-gray dragon from Matt Wagner's comic book Mage from the 1980s:  |

I like the Blue Dragon and I run the breath weapon as Chain Lightning multi-arc of electricity to all targets in the cone, dealing damage to unattended objects, start fires in flammable objects, and shock creatures often stopping their hearts.
